How to be a good team leader

There are lots of ways to lead a team. Many of us ask some questions to find a good way to lead. How can I help my team? How can I make my team trust me? Cady Coleman can help. She is an American astronaut and engineer. Her ideas can help your team face any hard thing. 

First, get to know each person on your team. ①People often say, "There's no 'I'____ . " But Coleman says maybe there should be. When you can say, "I think your world is not the same as mine. I want to know more about it, " you will be close to your teammates. 

②You should also make a place where everyone can share ideas. When Coleman trained to go to the space station, she was told only astronauts in big space suits would be chosen. This gave Coleman a choice: wait for another chance or make sure she could train in the bigger suits. Coleman talked to the people who made decisions. Then she could train in the bigger suits. ③Because she was brave to speak up, her team helped her. And her team got better, too. 

Make "trust" your job. To get your team members' trust, listen to different ideas. You can talk about food or music. Write a note to praise an idea. And ask to hear more ideas. Coleman's way was easy. She did her work well. She was patient. She learned what her teammates liked to talk about. And she taught them her words. If you understand your team, they will trust you.

How to Have a Healthy Life

The outbreak of COVID-19 has influenced our daily life deeply. It makes more and more people realize the importance of healthy life. But，how can we have a healthy life? Here are some suggestions for you. 

Stephen Hawking, who died on 14 March 2018, was born in England in 1942. When he was a child, he was very clever. He often helped his teachers install (安装) computers. He is one of the most famous scientists on space and time in the world. He is called the King of the Universe. He studied math and science at Oxford University, then he became seriously ill, which made him unable to speak or breathe without the help of machines.

He went on to study at Cambridge University after graduating from Oxford University. In 1965, he got a Doctor's Degree of philosophy (哲学). Because of his serious illness, it was difficult for him to draw diagrams or to write. So he started to think in pictures. With this new way of thinking, he is respected by people in the world. Then in 1988, he wrote his first important book, A Brief History of Time. It was sold more than 5.5 million copies in over 33 different languages. Hawking was once invited to China to give lectures (做演讲). He visited China three times. He had many fans in China. Hawking told Chinese children to stay curious and confident (保持好奇和自信). His self-confidence and humorous conversations impressed us deeply.

Everyone has a dream. Catherine's is to own a bakery (蛋糕店).

The 14-year-old American girl became fond (喜爱) of baking and decorating (装饰) cakes when her mother first  her how to do it. Her parents found that she is talented  making cakes. She made her first cake for her sister's birthday. "I had never really done anything like this before, "she said. "It was pretty  and I actually realized how much I liked cake decorating." After making her sister's birthday cake, Catherine tried making the  one for herself.

Catherine had thought about starting own business years ago, but she didn't start receiving orders until she put pictures of her cake designs on Facebook. 

A few hours later, somebody saw Catherine's cake designs and called to  a cake for $15. That was her first paid cake. It proved to be a  experience.

Realizing the public's interest in Catherine's designs, her family decided to create a business for her. She has made about 35 cakes  she started, including birthday cakes and wedding cakes. And she made her cakes without  sketch (草稿) first.

Catherine's  were surprised that she could create such impressive designs as such a young age.

Do you want to be cleverer? Five ways can make you cleverer. 

Don't play with the smart phone too much.

When you feel like relaxing, try reading a book instead. If you're too tired, listen to some music. When you're with your friends or family, put down your phone and have a conversation. All of these things make your mind run better and also allow you to relax.

Taking exercise always leads to greater learning. Use your body to clear your head and create more energy. Afterwards, you will feel more energetic and can concentrate more easily.

Read challenging books.

If you want to improve your thinking and writing ability, you should read books that make you concentrate.  

Early to bed, early to rise.

You'll be the most rejuvenated (恢复活力的) if you go to bed early and don't sleep more than 8 hours. The early morning hours are the most peaceful and productive (多产的).  

Take time to reflect (反思).

 Afterwards, you'll have a better understanding of what's important and what isn't. The unimportant things won't bother you anymore and your mind will feel less encumbered (妨碍).
