Reporter: How can tourists pick and buy gifts?

Manager: You may take home some nice gifts for your family members and friends.  If you can stay in China for a long time, you will have time to go to different shops to pick and buy gifts.  So you needn't buy them on the first day.  You can compare (比较) them with each other and then make the best choice.  

Reporter: Should the tourists listen to the guides (导游) or attendants (服务员)?

Manager: Some guides may give you chances to shop.  But if you are not interested, you can say you don't enjoy it.  In shops, you may find some attendants trying to help you buy something.  This doesn't mean you have to buy.  It is OK to say no, or just to look around.  On the way, there may be some vendors (小贩) following you and trying to sell you something.  If you are not interested, just keep going. 

Li Yong is very fond of travelling.   He was amazed at the beauty of the capital city and hoped to see more of the world.  At the age of seven, he travelled with his uncle to a tourist site in a neighbouring county (县).   And when his uncle found him, he was happily eating an ice cream at a police station.  After he became a university student, he only returned home for short visits and spent nearly all his holidays travelling.   Instead, he would make money by selling his paintings.  Last month he flew to Paris.  When he was on the plane, he realized that he had very little money with him.  However, he was not worried at all.   Many French people came to him for his paintings, and he sold them at a very good price.  It is very easy for him to make money on his travels.   He likes there very much. 

It's the Chinese New Year today.  Sam gets a red packet from his grandma.  That's his favourite part of the festival.  He gets four dollars and goes shopping in Chinatown (唐人街).  

There are a lot of interesting things in the streets—fireworks (烟花), lion dances and delicious food.  Then Sam sees an old man.  The man sleeps in the street.  He doesn't wear shoes.  "He doesn't have a home.  What a poor (可怜的) man!" Sam thinks.  

At a toy shop, Sam wants to buy a Monkey King toy.  But it's six dollars.  Sam wants to go back home and get more money.  On the way, he sees the old man again.  "Why not give the four dollars to him? He can use the lucky money to buy some hot food and drinks," Sam thinks.  

He gives the money to the old man and goes back home.  His grandma knows the story and gives him a hug (拥抱).  "What a good boy!" she says. 

What will you do when you know there are many hungry people in your community (社区)? Would you like (give) help to them? For Isaac Winfield, his answer is "yes".  

Isaac Winfield is  thirteen-year-old boy and he lives in Worcestershire, Britain.  He  (start) "Friends of Isaac's Food Bank" at his own home.  It is to give food  bread and hamburgers and all of the food is free (免费的).  And people don't need to knock on the door,  it's open 24 hours a day.  Anyone in need can  (get) what they want at any time.  

"There  (be) about five visitors a day.  Someone comes late, very late at night," Isaac says.  

Isaac's parents support him.  "He is always  (friend) to others.  He tries his best to help people in need.  His birthday is coming.  When we ask  (he) what kind of gifts he wants, he refuses (拒绝) gifts for himself.  He needs something for the Friends of Isaac's Food Bank.  He dreams of opening a second food bank in the town in the next few months.  We are glad to hear that.  He is our hero," says his mother, Claire.  

"Everyone will meet  (problem) in life.  It makes me feel great to give help to others," says Isaac.
