If you read Ernest Hemingway's The Snows of Kilimanjaro，you may love the story and feel surprised at Mount Kilimanjaro's snow-capped top.The mountain is the highest in northeastern Tanzania in Africa with the height of 5，895 metres.

No one knows how Kilimanjaro got its name.It may come from the Swahili word"kilima"（meaning"mountain"） and the Chagga word"njaro"（meaning"shining"or"whiteness"）.

Kilimanjaro is a popular hiking place.This is because the hiking routes（路线） do not need much experience.Thousands of climbers climb the mountain for fun each year.

In 1973，the government built Kilimanjaro National Park and it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site later in 1987.More and more animals live in this mountain and its forests，like the blue monkey，and it helped improve the area's special environment.

The mountain is famous for its snow on the top.Unluckily，the white snow may soon disappear.Over the last hundred years，all of Kilimanjaro's glaciers（冰川）have begun to become smaller.Higher temperatures are a main reason，but they're not the only one.The less rain has also played a big role in losing snow.If this continues（继续），most of the glaciers may disappear by 2040.

It's clear that we need to take action to protect the natural beauty now.

Ron Clark is the writer of The Essential 55，a book about teaching students the rules for life.In 2000，he was named Disney's American Teacher of the Year.He helped a lot of students who had a hard time and made a big difference in their lives. 

Clark started teaching at a primary school in North Carolina，USA.When he started teaching fifth grade，he faced many challenges.The kids weren't into learning and often played or slept in class.To help them ， Clark wrote 55 rules.Soon，the students started to get better in school and in life.They learned to love others and to be the best of themselves. 

Clark doesn't find it difficult to teach his students these rules.He explains each rule and then the students role-play.The first week is for practice.If they forget a rule，he helps them remember.Clark hopes when his students leave this classroom，they can have skills that will help them for the rest of their lives.

Luca didn't get on well with his parents in the past.They always compared him with his sister，so Luca（ feel） blue.He often argued with his parents about this.

The good news is for art lovers who cannot travel and for the caves.Scientists have created a 360-degree，3 D digital projection of the caves，which makes the artwork come alive.There is also a function that lets viewers zoom    in and enjoy the paintings and sculptures in greater detail.

Digitizing ancient art allows us to explore the ancient practices.It also makes the whole world understand the art while protecting the original artworks for the future.

Focus on mental health At some point in life, many people suffer a mental disturbance （心理干扰）. While most people get over it, for others it doesn't go away easily.

Oct 10 was World Mental Health Day. This year, the theme was "Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World"：The World Health Organization says that about 20% of children and teenagers around the world suffer from mental illness. It's thought that the number of children and teenagers with mental illness around the world will increase by half by 2020. It will become one of the main reasons for illnesses and even death.

In China, the    picture    isn't    bright, either. About 30 million Chinese children and teenagers under the age of 17, or 10% of children and teenagers in China, have a mental health challenge, reported China Daily. Also, according to China Daily, Chinese people don't seek help for their mental problems. They fear that others will think less of them if they let people know that they are in trouble.

Young people who don't seek help for their condition may be creating problems for themselves in the future. Jagannath Lamichhane, a mental health expert in Nepal （尼泊尔）, warned that. "If we hide our mental health, it may remain a problem forever."

"My message for young people is, if you feel something is wrong within you—seek help," he told NPR.

Today I feel a little down because I can't stop comparing myself with my classmate Tom. He is really good at all his (subject), especially math and English. Every time when he (speak) highly of by the teacher for his perfect homework or high test scores, I have a lot of pressure. So I study harder every day, staying up late (do) exercise. However,I still can't catch up  him. When we do group work together, he always has great ideas and speaks (confident) in front of the class. I just sit there, too nervous to say  word. I even start to doubt I'm not smart enough. Mom tells me not to compare (me) with others, but to focus on my own progress. Maybe she's right. Tomorrow I will take it step by step and cheer up. I will try my (good) to answer one question in class, no matter hard it is. I believe I can do it!

May Day falls   May 1st every year in China. It is  for us to respect hard-working people.

In the past, workers fought for better working conditions. They never  to stand up for their rights.For example, they held big meetings and gave  to voice their needs. their hard work, we have this special holiday now.

We should never let their spirit  from our minds. Always respect every worker who helps make our country better.

In a forest, there lived a little snail named Timmy. Timmy wasn't 1 fast, but he had a big dream. He wanted to climb to the top of the tallest 2 and see the world from there. Every day, he watched birds fly and monkeys climb trees easily, feeling 3 because he couldn't move fast. But his mum told 4 ,"It's not about how fast, but about never giving up."

How do you keep healthy in your daily life?(No more than 15 words)

A team of about 35 young and excited employees(员工) came together for a team-building event. However,they had a big problem: they didn't like to share information with each other. The team leader thought they cared too much about themselves, not the team.

To teach them a lesson, she brought them all into a big room. All the tables and chairs were put away. In the center of the room was a big box of balloons. The leader began the first round by telling everyone to take a balloon, blow it up, and write their names on it. They had to be very careful not to pop the balloon. About 30 team members did it successfully.

Then, the leader asked them to leave the room. After five minutes, they came back. Now, the room was full of hundreds of colorful balloons, all with different names on them! The leader gave them a new task:"Find the balloon with your name on it. The first three to find theirs will win."

For 15 minutes, everyone searched everywhere, pushing balloons around. But no one could find their own balloon. Everyone looked tired and frustrated(灰心的).

Finally, the leader started the third round. This time, she said,"Now, pick up any balloon from the room and give it to the person whose name is on it."

In just two minutes, everyone had their own balloon!

The leader then said,"When we only think about ourselves, like in the second round, it's hard to succeed.But when we work together and share, just like in the third round, we can solve problems well and quickly. We are much better when we are working together."

①A kindergarten teacher decided to have her class play a game. The teacher told each student to bring a plastic bag with a few potatoes in it to school. Each student would"name" their potatoes after people they did not like. Therefore, the number of potatoes would be different depending on how many people each student disliked.

②The next day, all the students brought their potatoes to school. Some kids had just one or two potatoes,while others had as many as five or six. The teacher then told the children that they would have to carry their potatoes with them wherever they went for one week.

③The students who carried more potatoes complained(抱怨) about how heavy their bags were. A few days passed by. Some of the other students started to complain, as their potatoes began to rot(腐烂) and smell bad.

④One week later, the game was over. The teacher asked,"How did you feel about carrying around your potatoes for a week?"

⑤The students complained once again. The teacher simply smiled and said,"This is what it's like to carry hate in your heart. You have to carry it with you wherever you go. If you can't tolerate carrying rotten potatoes for one week, can you imagine having hate in your heart for your whole lifetime?"

⑥It can be exhausting(使人精疲力竭的) to carry hate in your heart for a whole lifetime. Forgive others and move on with  your life. When you let go of anger and dislike, your heart will become light and peaceful again.Forgiveness is not just a gift to others, but also a kind of freedom for yourself. It helps you keep a happy mood and walk forward more bravely every day.

Do you have your dream job? What job do you want to have when you grow up? When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of being different kinds of people. At first, I wanted to be a teacher because I thought it was cool to teach students new knowledge. I could see the sweet smiles on their faces when they understood something new.It felt like I was lighting up their minds. But later, after watching many exciting medical dramas on TV, I changed my mind. I hoped to become a doctor. I was deeply drawn by how doctors worked under pressure, using their skills to pull patients back from the edge of death. It seemed so amazing to me.

Now, as a middle school student, my dream is to be a scientist. I really like science, especially chemistry. Ilove doing experiments in the science lab at school. They are the source of wonder. Every time I see a chemical reaction happen, I feel so excited. I believe that science can change the world. I dream to make some great scientific discoveries in the future. Maybe I can find new ways to make our environment cleaner or develop better medicines to help sick people. I even dream of walking on the moon or even travelling to Mars one day.

I know that the path to becoming a scientist is long and full of difficulties. But I'm ready. To make my dream come true, I am working hard at all subjects, especially math and science. I will read more books about science and attend science lectures, too. I am sure that as long as I keep trying my best, my dream will come true one day.
