What an amazing horse! Even more than a thousand years have passed, we can still feel the power within its burning eyes, orderly teeth and kicking hooves. Night-Shining White, now kept in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, is regarded as one of the most important horse paintings in the history of Chinese art. Its artist, Han Gan, is known for his drawing skills.
Born into a poor family in the early Tang Dynasty, the young Han Gan had to help to support his family by working in a local wine shop. His talent(才能) in art was discovered by accident when he was sent to the poet WangWei's house to collect payment for some wine. While waiting at the gate, HanGan used a stick(木棍) to draw pictures on the ground and was seen by the poet. Wang Wei decided to help the young man to study painting. Because of Han's natural talent and years of hard work, he was finally chosen to serve Emperor(为皇帝效命) Xuanzong.
The Tang emperors were crazy about horses. At that time, the most common way to study horse painting was to copy the works of previous painters. Han Gan's way, however, was different— He studied the animal itself. He was a frequent visitor to the royal stables(马舍) and even lived with the stable workers for some time. The horses, whether resting or moving, offered him a lot of ideas. The more time he spent studying these horses, the more his understanding of them grew. Day by day, Han Gan painted the horses, showing every detail that he saw with his own eyes.
Those who saw Han Gan's horse paintings were all surprised at his skills, saying that his horses"could gallop(疾驰) off the paper". Even SuShi, the famous poet of the Song Dynasty, expressed his admiration for HanGan as one of the best horse painters with the words, "The horses painted byHan Gan are real horses. "

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is one of the great works by Mark Twain. The book is so interesting. Even today, it is quite popular among kids. Although I am in my thirties, the book remains one of my favourites. After re-reading the book recently, I have learned an important lesson from TomSawyer.
In our daily lives, we are often given some boring or tiring work. What's in your mind when your mum tells you to clean the floor? Have you ever wanted to complain(抱怨)? I think most people have.
Tom Sawyer, however, thought"differently" when he was asked to do something boring. One Saturday morning, Aunt Polly told Tom to paint the fence(篱笆). Tom's friend Ben Rogers happened to walk past. Tom told Ben that he felt"excited" about the work. "Only one in a thousand— maybe even two thousand— boys can do this!"Tom said.
Tom's words made Ben interested in the work. He even gave Tom his apple so that he could have a chance to paint the fence. If Tom had thought about nothing but complaining, he would have had a bad day painting the fence.
This story teaches me an important lesson: Complaining is useless. The next time you are given boring or tiring work, don't complain. Unlike what happens in the story of Tom Sawyer, it is possible that nobody will come and do the work for you. However, without complaining, you' ll feel better and perhaps even do a better job!
(1)、Why did Tom say the underlined sentence to Ben in Paragraph 3?A、To show his sadness. B、To catch Ben's interest. C、To show his excitement. D、To show the work is difficult.(2)、Put the following information into the RIGHT order according to the passage.a. Ben Rogers walked past.

C、All people like complaining when they are given boring or tiring work. D、It is useless to complain when you are given something boring or tiring. -

②"How was it possible to walk through the woods and see nothing worthy of note?" I asked myself. I can't see, but I find hundreds of things to interest me through touch. If I can get so much pleasure from touch, how much more beauty must be found by sight(视力)? And I have imagined what I should most like to see if I were given the use of my eyes for just three days.
③On the first day, I should want to see the people who have made my life worth living and the books which have been read to me. In the afternoon, I should take a walk in the woods and admire the beauty of nature. That night, I should not be able to sleep.
④On my second day, I should go to the museums to see man's progress. I should try to explore the spirit of man through his art. In the evening, I should spend at the movies.
⑤The following day, I should spend in the world of common people going about the business of life. At midnight, the endless night would close_in on me again, and I should realise how much I had left unseen.
⑥I who am blind can give one suggestion to those who see: Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be blind. The same is true of other senses. Hear the songs of birds, as if you would be deaf tomorrow. Smell the flowers, as if tomorrow you could never smell again . . . But of all the senses, I'm sure that sight must be the most pleasant.
