The National Museum of China has a new popular product: a fridge magnet(冰箱贴) made from the design of the phoenix crown(凤冠) of Empress Xiaoduan from the Ming Dynasty.
"The phoenix crown fridge magnet sold 1,700 pieces in just two hours," said Liao Fei, who works at the museum. Fans waited in line as early as 6 a. m. , even in the rain, to buy it. In three months, sales reached80,000 magnets. All phoenix crown-themed products brought in over 10 million yuan.
The design team was surprised. "At first, we made only a few to see if people liked them," Liao said. The idea to make more magnets came after seeing many visitors share photos of the real phoenix crown on social media. This gave the team the idea to make new products.
The design team has seven members. They get ideas by visiting museum displays and checking social media to make sure the magnets are of good quality, and factories now make about 3,000 magnets a day. The museum also sells other phoenix crown products, like notebooks and keychains. Many of these are popular too. To stop people from buying too many to sell again, the museum set a daily buying rule.
"This shows how much people love cultural products," Liao said. Many buyers like taking pictures of the magnets with the real phoenix crown, which is now the most visited display in the museum.

As a language learner, you are not alone. About 1.2 billion people are learning a foreign language. However, not all of them enjoy success. We talked to hundreds of successful language learners. They shared some of their habits (习惯) with us.
One key to long-term success is working towards the goal all the time. Most successful language learners make sure they spend a few minutes practicing every day. Some language learners practice their language only in class. In the long run, they improved less than those who practice daily.
The second habit of successful language learners is that they don't study too much or too long at a time. Instead, they study for a short period each time. And then after a break, they continue. Over a longer time, they make progress.
Some language learners always want to learn as much new material (材料) as they can. But review (复习) also plays an important role in learning. Do you still remember all the English words and expressions you learned last year? Successful language learners review the old material. Going over lessons turns the short-term memory (记忆) into the long-term one.
Are you having a hard time improving your English? Then you may try to develop these three habits. Don't worry if it takes time. Learning a second language well should take time!
(1)、How many people are learning a foreign language according to the passage?(2)、Why do successful learners review the old material?(3)、Do successful language learners learn for a long time each time?(4)、How can a language learner improve? (List one example)(5)、What do you think of the three habits? What other good habits of learning English do you have? -

18、Many kids think they are not the most beautiful or the smartest. Sometimes kids don't know how special they are. When they see outstanding athletes (杰出运动员) or cool stars, they often think: Am I outstanding? What am I going to be when I grow up?
Growing up means understanding what you can do and what you can offer to the world. When you are young, you don't see that. But as you get older, you may know that by being yourself, you do offer something to other people.
Maybe you aren't the best, but that doesn't make you "not special". Think about your friends. Write down some things that you like about them. Think about why you are friends. You are going to know that in the end, though they aren't the smartest or the prettiest or the most talented, they are great in their ways. And they feel just the same as you!
In fact, it is great to be the best at something, but it's OK if you can't. If you just live your life and try hard, you are still pretty amazing. And you can make your dream come true.
(1)、What does the underlined word "offer" mean?A、Borrow. B、Return. C、Buy. D、Give.(2)、Which is TRUE according to the passage?A、Most of the kids think they are as popular as their friends. B、You offer something to other people by growing up. C、Your friends are great only because they are the smartest. D、Your friends are special and so are you.(3)、What does the passage mainly tell us?A、Why you are so common. B、How special everybody is. C、How you can easily grow up. D、How you can become popular. -
