Robots are very important in our daily life now. People like robots because they can do things for us. They can do housework. They can deal with data (处理数据) fast. Some people think robots can do everything nicely.

But some things that are easy for us are difficult for robots. For example, robots have difficulty picking up (捡起) things. This may make you feel surprised because even babies can pick up things easily. That's because our brains (大脑) tell us how to use our hands to hold (抓住) things. But robots can't understand these kinds of things. So they often break or drop things.

Many scientists are trying to deal with this problem. Among them is Ken Goldberg from the University of California, Berkeley, the US. He has studied the problem for years. Finally, he came up with an answer to the question. He built a database (数据库) for robots. All kinds of information about a thing, such as its size and shape, are in the database. Before a robot picks up a thing, it can find the information about the thing. In this way, the robot can pick up the thing easily.

On hot days, it's hard to say no to a slice of watermelon, right? People in Beijing love it so much that they even built a museum for this sweet fruit.

China Watermelon Museum is in Panggezhuang town, Daxing dıstrıct, south of Beijing. It is the only watermelon museum in the world. There are two good reasons why people built this museum. First of all, the watermelon is one of people's favourite fruits in China. Second, Panggezhuang town is the "home town of watermelons in China", as it grows a large number of watermelons every year.

China Watermelon Museum is 22,000 square metres in size, and you can see more than 140 wax (蜡) watermelons. Inside the main building, there are also pictures, poems and videos showing you just everything about this juicy fruit, from its birthplace in southern Africa, growing methods (方法), to China's special "watermelon culture". In a word, the museum is truly a watermelon world.

Outside the main building, there is a large sculpture (雕塑) park, with over 10,000 square metres. There you can see some interesting sculptures that tell watermelon stories.

If you go to Beijing, don't forget to visit this interesting museum. The best time to visit it is summer. Visitors can not only learn more about watermelon cultivation, but also taste different kinds of watermelons outside the main building.

Did you know that your water bottle can be bad for you if you don't clean it often? When water is left in a bottle for a long time, germs (细菌) can start to grow. These germs may come from the water or from other things like hands. If you drink from a water bottle that has germs, you might not feel well.

Then how often should you clean your water bottle? You'd better wash it every day, especially (尤其) if you use it for drinks other than water. It also depends on (取决于) your activities, where you're bringing it and the smell of the bottle. If you use your water bottle in hot and wet air, germs can grow quickly! Then be sure to clean your bottle after each use.

Here are some tips (建议) for cleaning your water bottle. First, use hot water. Second, wash the inside and outside of the bottle with a brush. Third, let it air dry before putting it away. Fourth, put it in a clean and dry place. Make it a habit to wash your bottle in this way, and you can keep the bottle free from germs and use it for a long time.

So remember, a clean water bottle is good for your health, and take a few minutes out of your day to clean it!

Vicky's mother opened the door. She had a look at Vicky's bedroom.

"What a mess! It looks as if a hurricane (飓风) passed through Vicky's bedroom," said Vicky's mother. "I must ask her to clean it."

Vicky was eating breakfast. Her father came into the kitchen and said, "Mom wants you to clean your room. It looks as if a hurricane passed through it."

Joe, Vicky's little brother, asked, "A hurricane? Is that a bad thing?"

"Sure it is," said his father.

"I'll do it after school, Dad," said Vicky. "My first class is geography and Mr. Miller hates people to be late." And off she ran through the front door.

Twenty minutes later, Vicky ran into her classroom.

"Today," said Mr. Miller. "We're going to learn about hurricanes. Have any of you seen a hurricane?" Vicky thought about her bedroom, but she said nothing.

"I haven't seen one. Not a real one but I watched a program on TV and I know they destroy (破坏) things and leave a mess (混乱)," said James who sat next to Vicky.

"Yes," said Mr. Miller. "But today I'm going to surprise you. Sometimes hurricanes do good."

"Hurricanes can be good things?" Vicky asked.

"Oh, yes," said Mr. Miller. "Hurricanes bring a lot of water to rivers and lakes that are becomıng dry. Animals and fish come back to live in them. Hurricanes also pick up heat from the very hot areas of the world and drop it in less warm places."

"So, hurricanes can be good things," Vicky said to herself. "I'm going to show Mom the good part."

When Vicky got home in the afternoon, she began to clean up her bedroom. She put all of her things in their proper places.

"Mom," she called. "Can you come here for a minute?"

Vicky's mother put her head around the door.

"Vicky!" she said. "That looks fantastic! I told your dad this morning that it looked as if a hurricane had hit it!"   

"Are you sure that's a bad thing, Mom?" asked Vicky, smiling.
