Hello, everyone! Our junior high school life is coming to an end soon, and an exciting summer holiday is just around the corner.

What makes you cry? Being moved by a movie, seeing a loved one off and being angry about something can all cause tears. We all have the power to cry, but is that a good thing?

One place where emotions run high is in the workplace. Someone might be stressed. Their work might be too much. A scientist, Joanna Cross, told the BBC, "Crying is often a build-up of failure and bad situations."

③Though crying doesn't change situations for the better, it can actually make you feel better. It can clear the bad feelings you have had. So perhaps we should cry more often if it is necessary. It isn't a bad thing.

Have you heard of Draw a Bird Day? Every year, on April 8, people in some draw a bird as a way to find joy in simple things in life. They want to help soldiers temporarily (暂时地) forget their suffering (痛苦).

In 1943, a 7-year-old British girl, Dorie Cooper, went to visit her uncle had been wounded in the war. The man was sad after losing his leg. In order to help him, Dorie asked him to draw a bird for her. Although he was unhappy, he finished a picture of a bird. Dorie looked at the picture and laughed, saying he wasn't a very talented but that she would hang the drawing in her room anyway.

, the man's spirits were raised. Every time Dorie visited him, he and other soldiers would have a match to see who could draw the bird. The room's walls were with drawings of birds soon.

Unluckily, Dorie was hit by a car three years later and. At her funeral (葬礼), her coffin (棺材) was filled with pictures of birds. They were drawn by soldiers, nurses and doctors from the hospital where her uncle had been. Since then, people have drawn birds on Dorie's birthday—April 8—to honor.

You can also celebrate the holiday by drawing a picture of a bird. Share this picture anyone who is important to you.

Flying kites

Spring is the best season for kite-flying. This is a traditional folk activity, which has a history of more than 2,000 years. It can help improve one's health and keep people from getting sick.

Biting spring

In many parts of China, it's a tradition to "bite spring" on the first day of the Start of Spring. People usually eat spring pancakes and spring rolls(春卷).

Appreciating plum blossoms(赏梅花)

Plum trees blossom from the 12th lunar month to the second lunar month of the next year. The plum blossom always fights against the cold. In China, the plum blossom is praised as one of the four gentlemen of Chinese flowers.

Welcoming spring

People in China began holding a special ceremony on the first day of the Start of Spring about 3,000 years ago. They made sacrifices(祭品) to Gou Mang, the god of spring. By the Qing Dynasty, greeting spring had become an important folk activity. In Beijing, government officials welcome spring in the field near Dongzhimen (the east gate of the old Beijing city).

Suddenly, he heard a loud voice. It was a lion. Feeling afraid, he quickly ran back. The lion was getting closer and closer. He climbed a huge tree. But when he was about to take a breath, he saw a bear sleeping on a branch (树枝) near him.

The lion saw the tree, the man and the bear. He asked the bear to push the man down, as he was hungry. The bear slowly replied, "I am sorry I cannot do that. This is my tree. He came to me to save his life. I cannot let him fall." Hearing this, the man felt happy.

The lion remained silent for a while. He then said to the man, "Hey, push the bear down and I will leave you alone." Without thinking, the man began to push the bear. The bear was so clever that he moved to another branch and seated himself comfortably. However, the man lost his balance and fell down. He regretted what he had done. The lion laughed at him and took him away.

Here is what Tony usually does on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. At 6:00 a.m. , he gets up and brushes his teeth. Then at 6:30, he goes running for an hour. After that, he takes a shower and cleans up for work. He leaves home for work at 7:30. It takes him 20 minutes to drive to his office. He starts to work at 8:00. In the afternoon, he usually arrives home from work at 6:30.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays he gets up at 7:00 a.m. He does some housework and then goes to work. He only has to get up early to exercise 3 days a week.

Tony also has healthy eating habits. On the days he doesn't need to exercise, and he usually goes to the stores to buy food. He buys healthy food such as vegetables and fruit. Sometimes he buys some meat. He likes eating beef. He likes cooking dinner at home.

He likes to relax on the weekend. He often goes to the park with his friends. He also likes to watch movies.
