What makes you cry? Being moved by a movie, seeing a loved one off and being angry about something can all cause tears. We all have the power to cry, but is that a good thing?
①人们哭泣的原因各不相同。However, the feeling is the same. Your eyes tighten (变紧) and before you know it, tears are streaming down your face. Some of us may sniffle (抽鼻子) a little②________ others may cry like a baby.
Some people say that women cry more than men. It is true. A study in the UK found that women did cry more than men. But does this mean men don't get as upset or sad as women? Or are they just uncomfortable about showing their true feelings?
One place where emotions run high is in the workplace. Someone might be stressed. Their work might be too much. A scientist, Joanna Cross, told the BBC, "Crying is often a build-up of failure and bad situations."
③Though crying doesn't change situations for the better, it can actually make you feel better. It can clear the bad feelings you have had. So perhaps we should cry more often if it is necessary. It isn't a bad thing.
(1)、Please list two things that can cause tears.(2)、请将文中①处画线句子翻译成英语。(3)、请在文中②处填入一个适当的连词。(4)、请写出③处画线句子的同义句。(5)、Why isn't crying a bad thing? -
