All over the world people enjoy sports. Sports help to keep people healthy and happy, and to live longer. 

They buy tickets or turn on their TVs to watch the games. Often they get very excited when "their" player or team wins. 

People play different games in winter and summer. Swimming is fun in warm weather, but skating is good in winter. 

Football, for example, has spread around the world. Swimming is popular in all countries near the sea or in those with many rive. What fun it is to jump into a pool or lake, whether in China or Australia! And think of people in cold countries. Think how many people love to skate in Japan or Canada. 

Chinese Wushu, for example, has a very long history. But basketball and volleyball are rather new. Neither one is 120 years old yet. People are inventing new sports or games all the time. Water- skiing is one of the newest in the family of sports. 

People from different co, retries may not be able to understand each other. Sports help to train a person's character. One learns to fight hard but fight fair, to win without pride and to lose with grace （体面） . 

We all want our skin(皮肤) to look good. If your skin is clear and healthy, it makes you feel better about yourself. How can you get great skin? Here are some suggestions. 

Protect your skin against the sun. 

If you are going to be outside, especially in the sun, you should put on suncream(防晒霜) in summer. 

Wear a hat to protect your face. A wide hat is the best, as it will protect your ears and neck as well. 

Stay in the shade whenever you can. 

Use suncream about half an hour before going outside. 

How to wash your skin?

Wash your body all over once a day. Use mild soap(肥皂) and warm water to wash your body. Wash the soap off, as it may harm your skin. 

Wash your face by using a facecloth and soap or cleaning cream, and then wash with cool water. Twice a day is enough, as too much cleaning can harm your skin. 

What else should you do?

Remember to drink lots of water—your skin loves it. 

Regular exercise is good for your skin. 

Eat healthily so that your skin can get things it needs to carry out all the jobs it has to do. 

A happy kid is a healthy kid. Parents and adults working with kids can have a big influence (影响) on kids' habits, including eating and exercise habits. 

Kids naturally want to run and play and when they are encouraged to play sports or to take part in activities, they are generally able to have healthy weights and build strong muscles. The kids who have healthy weights and strong bodies are generally healthy. Sports or other activities not only help kids have strong healthy bodies, but help kids do better in school and have better goals and self-confidence. A child that keeps taking exercise can be braver and get along better with others. Adults can encourage children to take exercise by doing activities together, like family hiking, biking or bowling together. 

Parents and other adults can set good examples of what foods are good to eat by preparing and serving healthy meals and avoiding going to fast food restaurants. Avoid buying candy and other sweets except when there is a special occasion, like a holiday or birthday. When adults set good examples, kids are more likely to follow them. When adults mostly eat fast food, candy and snacks, kids are more likely to eat the same types of foods. 

Kids need to be taught that at there are many ways for them to stay healthy, but setting good examples is just as important as teaching them. 

A daily walk, even if it's just a 15-minute walk to the shop, can help to keep you active. If you walk with friends, it can improve your social life, too. Regular walks can help to protect your body from illness and make a big difference to your health. How can walks improve your health?

Weight loss

As we get older, we are more likely to put on weight. The only way to lose weight is to use more energy that we take in, and a daily walk can help to burn off some of those calories (卡路里). 

Bone health

Walking can help to strengthen bones, help to prevent the coming of osteoporosis（骨质疏松症）, which makes bones brittle and more likely to break. 

Cancer

According to Cancer Research UK, cancer causes a quarter of all deaths in the UK. Dr Modgil says, "Certain studies show that walking seems to reduce the risk of cancer more than running or playing tennis. 

Mental(精神的) health

A survey carried out by the charity Mind said that 83% of the people with mental health problems found that physical activity helped to lift their mood. Walking can help you to stay active. It means that you are less likely to feel lonely while walking.

I'd like to share how I manage my pocket money every month. 

Pocket money is the money given for little spending.  This amount of money can be given by parents every day, every week or every month.  I get 20 dollars a month from my parents.  

Mum's birthday was coming.  I wanted to buy her a beautiful dress that would cost 115 dollars, but I only had 60 dollars.  I decided to do small jobs to earn some money so that I could buy it.  I went outside to the garage (车库) and asked Dad if I could wash his car.

What will you do when you know there are many hungry people in your community (社区)? Would you like (give) help to them? For Isaac Winfield, his answer is "yes".  

Isaac Winfield is  thirteen-year-old boy and he lives in Worcestershire, Britain.  He  (start) "Friends of Isaac's Food Bank" at his own home.  It is to give food  bread and hamburgers and all of the food is free (免费的).  And people don't need to knock on the door,  it's open 24 hours a day.  Anyone in need can  (get) what they want at any time.  

"There  (be) about five visitors a day.  Someone comes late, very late at night," Isaac says.  

Isaac's parents support him.  "He is always  (friend) to others.  He tries his best to help people in need.  His birthday is coming.  When we ask  (he) what kind of gifts he wants, he refuses (拒绝) gifts for himself.  He needs something for the Friends of Isaac's Food Bank.  He dreams of opening a second food bank in the town in the next few months.  We are glad to hear that.  He is our hero," says his mother, Claire.
