The Shanghai Jia o Tong University(SJTU) VEX team（上海交通大学VEX机器人团队） started in 2018. It is good d iffe re nt: VEX Robotics Matches. Students from 50 joined in the 2022- 2023 match in Ame rica. The SJTU VEX team a robot to compete against（和· · · · · ·竞争）other teams and got the place.

Wu Ru ixing , head of the SJTU VEX team,, "We were so , because it was our first time to jo in in such an important match. We  day and night to prepare for the competition."

Wu wants more students to the team. "Now, we welco me more of our schoolmates to jo in . It is not just about the competition, but it is about teamwork and same pursuit（追求）of knowledge," Wu said .

These days, I had a hard time working on a group project. My teacher 1  me to work with three classmates. But they didn't care about the2 . I didn't know what to do.

While discussing things in a group, it is important for students to share their own ideas——but they should also remember to liste n to others carefully.__

Ta lkin g with others in a team is very important. First, what is the work? Second, what is the goal? Third , what should everyone do?

In a group work, members often have d iffe re nt roles to p lay.__Sometimes, the members may choose their own roles in a task.

 Eve n there may be d ifficu ltie s, but members can so lve problems with teamwork.

In nature, there are many kind s of animals, such as tigers, lio ns, elephants and so on.

Some of them usually live alone. For example, tigers like living by themselves. But for some small animals, they also have their way to survive（生存）—to work together with each other.

Meerkats（猫鼬）live in the desert, and they have enemies（敌人）everywhere. To survive, they have all the skills to live there.

For example, they can see their enemies from far away. But they cannot survive alone.

They survive because of one skill — they usually live and work together as a team. For them, teamwork means life or death（死亡）。

Meerkats live underground in larg e groups and have d iffe re nt group roles（角色）.

Some watch for enemies; some look after the young meerkats and others go out to find food. Meerkats can't talk like humans, but they can transit info rmatio n by d iffe re nt sounds.

They can tell others where the enemy is—an eagle（鹰）in the air flying to them or a snake on the ground.

So what can people le arn from meerkats? They show us the importance of teamwork.

I'm Lily. Our teacher d ivid ed our class into 10 teams to prepare for a project. The project was about how to protect the environment. Our team's name was "Gre e n Guards". We had four members: Sarah, Tom, Emma and me. We were e xcite d to work together.

Sarah was good at studying, so she co lle cte d info rmatio n for us. Tom lo ved drawing, and he drew beautiful illustrations（插图）for our project. Emma had a great vo ice , and she recorded（录制）a short vid eo to show our find ing s. My job was to put everything together and make our project in order.

We met after school every day. And we shared ideas and helped each other. When we faced d ifficu ltie s, we didn't g ive up. Instead（反而）, we chatted together to find so lutio ns（解决方案）. And when our project was fin a lly ready, we were all proud（骄傲的）。

Biking is a popular way of traveling. Different countries have different rules for child riders.

Last weekend, my parents had to work so they left me at home (独自).
