My inspiring role model is my grandma. She was born in a poor village in 

1945. When she was 15, her parents died, and she had to take care of her three younger siblings. She worked in the fields during the day and made clothes at night to earn money. Even though life was very hard, she never complained.

Grandma taught herself to read and write. She always told me, "Knowledge is the most important thing in life." She saved every penny to send her siblings to school. Later, she got married and had three children. She worked even harder to make sure her children could get a good education.

Now, my grandma is 78 years old. She still reads books every day and helps me with my studies. She tells me that no matter how hard life is, I should never give up my dreams.

Zhang Xiaomei is a painter from a small town in Sichuan. When she was 3 years old, she lost her right hand in a car accident. But she never stopped loving art.

At first, she tried to paint with her left hand. It was very difficult, but she practiced every day. She spent hours drawing and painting, even when her hand was sore. When she was 16, she held her first art show in her town. People were shocked by her beautiful paintings.

Now, Zhang has held many art shows around the country. Her paintings are full of hope and positivity. She often says, "I may have lost one hand, but I still have a dream. Nothing can stop me from chasing it."

Zhang's story has inspired many disabled people to face their difficulties bravely. She is truly an inspiring person.

Jeremy Lin is a famous basketball player. He was born in the USA in 1988. When he was a child, he loved playing basketball. But many people didn't think he could be a good basketball player because he was Asian and not very tall.

Lin played basketball in college, but he wasn't drafted by any NBA team at first. He had to play in minor leagues. In 2012, he got a chance to play for the New York Knicks. At first, he didn't get much playing time. But when the team's main players got injured, Lin got his chance. He played amazingly and led the team to win many games. People called this "Linsanity".

Later, Lin played for several other NBA teams. He also played in China. Now, he has retired from professional basketball, but he still encourages young people to follow their dreams.

Yuan Longping, known as the "Father of Hybrid Rice", was born in 1930 in Beijing. When he was young, he saw many people suffering from hunger, so he decided to study agriculture to help solve the food problem.

In the 1960s, Yuan began his research on hybrid rice. At that time, many people thought it was impossible to develop high-yield hybrid rice. But Yuan didn't give up. He spent years working in the fields, even in hot summer and cold winter.

In 1973, Yuan and his team successfully developed the first hybrid rice variety. It could produce 20% more rice than common varieties. Later, he kept improving the hybrid rice. Now, his hybrid rice is grown in many countries around the world, helping millions of people get enough food.

Yuan Longping passed away in 2021, but his spirit of hard work and never giving up lives on. He is truly an inspiring person for all of us.

Li Jia was born in a small mountain village. Her parents were both farmers, and the family lived a simple life. When she was 12, her father got sick and couldn't work anymore. Li Jia had to drop out of school to help her mother take care of the family and do farm work.

But Li Jia never stopped learning. She borrowed books from her old classmates and read them late at night after finishing all the housework. She 1  that knowledge could change her life and the life of her family.

One day, a volunteer teacher came to her village. He was 2  by Li Jia's strong desire to learn and helped her get back to school. Li Jia studied harder than ever. She 3  every minute reading and practicing.
