My Dream of Going to Space

In 2021, China sent its first Mars rover, Zhurong, to Mars. Zhurong is named after a fire god in Chinese mythology. It took seven months to travel from Earth to Mars.

When Zhurong arrived on Mars, it sent back amazing photos of the red planet. It also did scientific tests to study the soil and atmosphere of Mars. Scientists hope to find signs of ancient life on Mars.

Zhurong is powered by solar panels, so it can work during the daytime. At night, it goes into sleep mode to save energy. It has traveled more than 1,900 meters on Mars so far.

China's Mars mission shows that the country has made great progress in deep space exploration. It also helps us learn more about our solar system.

The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite. It is about 384,000 kilometers away from Earth. Unlike Earth, the Moon has no atmosphere, so there is no air or water on it. The temperature on the Moon changes a lot: it can be as hot as 127℃ during the day and as cold as -173℃ at night.

People have always been interested in the Moon. In 1969, the US Apollo 11 mission sent the first humans to the Moon. Neil Armstrong was the first person to step on the Moon. He said, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

Now, many countries are planning to send astronauts to the Moon again. They want to build a permanent base there to do more research.

China has made great progress in space exploration over the past few decades. In 2003, Shenzhou V carried Yang Liwei, China's first astronaut, into space. This made China the third country in the world to send a person into space independently.

Later, Shenzhou VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV and XV followed. Each mission broke new records. For example, Shenzhou VII carried three astronauts, and one of them did China's first spacewalk.

In 2021, China launched the core module of the Tiangong Space Station. Now, astronauts can live and work in the station for six months or longer. They do scientific experiments, fix equipment and even grow vegetables in space.

China also has plans to send astronauts to the Moon by 2030 and build a research station there. The future of China's space program looks bright.
