It's me！

My name is Li Hua. 

My name is Zack. I'm from the US. I am a 13-year-old boy. I'm a big book lover. There are books in every room of my house. My favourite writer is William Shakespeare. My two best friends are Eve and Kate. Eve s a tall girl and she is 14 years old. She comes from the UK. She likes reading too. She likes reading Harry Potter. Kate is of the same age as me and she is from Singapore. She is also a great reader. She thinks reading is interesting. Andy Griffiths from Australia is her favourite writer. We three don't look the same, but we have the same hobby and we love each other. 

It is 21st October today. It is  special day for Sam. He usually goes to school in his father's car,  today, he walks to school. He likes  (walk) and he often goes hiking at weekends. 

After having breakfast, Sam (put) on his jacket and cap. His mother says, "Look both ways when you go across the street" Sam says goodbye to Mum and starts his long walk. There is a gym behind his house. Some old people exercise  front of it every day. Sam greets (they), "Good morning Have fun today" Then he keeps on walking.

Take things off.

First, please take all things off your desk.  Now, you can see what is on your desk. Put the books and pens on your desk. Put other things in your schoolbag. 

A good desk has a place for everything. For example, keep your pens in a pencil box on the desk. Place often-used books upright on the desktop, and store other things in the desk drawer. As you can see, you can find your things easily. 

Clean it every day.

Your desk is tidy now. But it is not for one day.  Before you go home, put your books and pens in their places. It is easy and fast. Keeping your desk clean daily helps you get ready for the next day. It can also save you a lot of time. 

Use boxes.

Boxes are good for your desk.  A small box is for your erasers and rulers. A big box is for your books. You can use a nice box for your pictures and cards. Boxes make your desk look nice and tidy.

Everyone has a family name. In China, the family name is the first name, but in English countries, the family name is the last name. So how do English people get their family names? The followings are some interesting answers. 

Some family names come from a place. A man lives on or near a hill, and his family name might be (可能是) Hill. In England, people's names may be Wood or Lake, because they live near the forest or the lake. 

Some are from a job. If a man is a cook, his name can be Cook. If a man is a baker(面包师), his name can be Baker. A baker makes bread. So his name is about his job. 

And many people get their family names from their father's family names. If you hear the name"Jackson", you can know that he is the son of Jack. 

Interestingly, some names come from a man's look or his personality(性格). A strong man might get the name Strong. A kind and brave man might be Goodman. 

English family names are not just words. They are like small stories. They tell us about a lot of cool information. It is fun to learn about them

Today is Parents' Day at our new school. Some parents of students from Class 5, Grade 7 come to visit（参观）. The class teacher, Mrs Wang, welcomes them and introduces the school and students' school life to them. Then she shows them around the school. 

The parents love the school very much. They like different places for different reasons（理由）. 

Mr Lin, Lin Tao's father, loves the smart whiteboard in the classroom best. It is the first time for him to see it. "It's smart and it is great for teaching and learning, " he says. 

Gao Ming's mother is excited about the sports field. She says, "My son loves soccer！ This big field is across from the classroom building. He can play there every day" Next to the field is a gym. Students can play ping-pong there when the weather is not good. 

Mr Song, Song Mei's father, is interested in the school library. It is behind the gym. A lot of books are in it. Students can read books with their classmates there. If they can't find the books they like to read, they can ask the teachers there for help. They' re all nice. 

After the visit, all the parents are happy. They think their children can have a beautiful and happy time here.
