Hello, I'm Li Mei! I'm living with my family in Singapore (新加坡). We celebrate the Spring Festival every year. But the Spring Festival here is a little different from that in China.

About a week before the Spring Festival, my mother starts cleaning our home. When it's OK, we go out to buy flowers and put them at home. It's a tradition for people in Singapore. Then three days before the Spring Festival, we go to Chinatown to buy food for the big dinner.

On the day before the Spring Festival, my grandmother gets up early to cook the big dinner. She can cook very delicious food like Laoyusheng (捞鱼生)—a traditional dish for the Spring Festival. There's fish and different vegetables in it. My grandmother thinks it can bring us good luck.

The next day, we visit my uncle and aunt. I always bring two oranges to them. When we leave, they give me two oranges too. It's also a tradition. Do you want to celebrate the Spring Festival with us? Come to Singapore!

Planting trees is important n the world. Today, many countries have such a holiday. In China, National Tree Planting Day is on March 12th. It is a day related (有关系的) to Sun Yat-sen. Sun Yat-sen was a great person in China. But many people don't know that Sun Yat-sen helped to save trees.

National Tree Planting Day in China started in 1915. From 1916 to 1928, National Tree Planting Day was celebrated on the Chinese Qingming Festival each year. Sun Yat-sen asked people to stop cutting down trees in his books. He planted trees himself with many people. Sun Yat-sen died on March 12th, 1925.

Planting trees is good for our Earth. They can make the world beautiful. Trees give us forests, stop soil (土壤) from losing and protect farmland. They can make the Earth a good place for us to live on.

Without trees, our lives will be difficult. For example, we can't get fruit and many other things without trees. So it's important for everyone to plant more trees on National Tree Planting Day.

China has seven legal holidays in a year, including New Year's Day, Chinese New Year (Spring Festival), Tomb Sweeping Day (Qingming Festival), May Day, Dragon Boat Festival (Double Fifth Festival), Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. "Legal" here means that you don't have to work during holidays but you can get paid. If your company (公司) asks you to work during holidays, you should be paid three times. Chinese New Year Holiday and National Day Holiday are two long holidays in China. During these two holidays, people enjoy themselves. But hotel rooms, train tickets and air tickets will be in great need. Therefore, people who are planning China tours had better avoid these Golden Weeks.

On September 23rd, 2023, the opening ceremony (开幕式) of the19th Asian Games in Hangzhou  place. People saw the electronic fireworks (电子烟花).

"The electronic fireworks cared  the environmental protection (环境保护)," said Sha Xiaolan, the director of the opening ceremony. "Different from normal fireworks, the electronic fireworks never make smoke or ."

Why did they use this  of fireworks? Because they were "green" and Sha Xiaolan hoped  environmental protection to the world. With the help of the digital (数字的) technology and 3D pictures, the electronic fireworks looked  beautiful. "People have rich feelings  they are watching the fireworks. Today is the  time I have seen electronic fireworks, and they are very eye-catching," he told China News.

"High technologies helped make environment-friendly fireworks," he said. "People made fireworks with 3D technology. They tried  best to make sure the fireworks had the best show  pollution."
