Wild animals that are now in danger need our protection. You might think kids don't have much power to help, but just by learning about the serious situation of wildlife, they can make a difference. Try one of these ideas to raise awareness about the importance of protecting wildlife. 

Hold an activity to raise money. There is a book sale at Judy's school at the end of every school year. She and her friends raise some money and donate it to the World Wildlife Fund. You could also sell your handmade cakes, clothes or artworks. Although these actions may seem small, they can make a difference to wildlife. 

Organize a lunch-and-learn. A lunch-and-learn is an activity that involves inviting a wildlife expert who works at a nature center to give a speech at your school. The expert helps to raise awareness about wildlife protection and has a discussion during lunch. 

Make wildlife-themed bookmarks(书签). Prepare some paper and markers Draw cute wild animals like pandas or tigers on the bookmarks. Write short slogans such as" Protect wild animals, save our friends. " Then share these bookmarks with your classmates. Put them in school libraries and classrooms. When others see the bookmarks while reading, they' ll remember to care about wildlife. 

Create educational videos. You can use your parents' phones or cameras to film videos that explain the importance of wildlife protection. These videos can be shared on social media or shown at school events. These videos can not only make people realize the importance of protecting wild animals, but also encourage people to take part in wildlife protection activities. 

Little babies, cats and pigs are all cute, aren't they? Most of us would say"Yes！" But why do we find them cute? About 100 years ago, scientists listed the cute features(特征) of human babies,   a large head, a round face, big eyes and so on. Many baby animals have these similar features. 

When we see a cute baby or animal, the brain   some special chemicals. These chemicals can give us  . Besides, the brain creates the "cute reaction(反应)". This feeling makes us want  the baby or animal. In 2009, scientists asked 122 young people to rate(划分等级) the cuteness of human babies. What did the scientists find? The   the ratings people gave, the more they wanted to care for the baby. 

However, not everyone feels cuteness in the same way. In another piece of research, those scientists  some pictures of baby faces by using computers. These babies looked similar but had small  in their features. The scientists then showed these pictures to a group of people and asked them to find what was different. What were the  ? Well, women performed a little better than men. And women between the ages of 19 and 26 did the best—they could   point out even the smallest differences. 

When we see a really cute baby or animal, we may want to touch it. This is called" cuteness aggression(进攻)". Do we want to hurt them? Not at all. In fact, the brain doesn't want our cute reaction to be too , so it creates a feeling of aggression to help us control our emotions.
