All the Difference in The World

Every Sunday morning I take a light jog around a park near my home.There's a lake located in one corner of the park.Each time I jog by this lake，I see the same elderly woman sitting at the water's edge.And there is always a small metal cage beside her.Last Sunday，I got so curious and wanted to find out what she was doing，so I stopped jogging and walked over to her.As I got closer，I realized that the metal cage was in fact a small trap.There were three turtles，unharmed，slowly walking around the base of the trap.She held a fourth turtle in her lap and was cleaning it carefully with a soft brush.

She went on： "I spend a couple of hours each Sunday morning，relaxing by this lake and helping these little guys out.It's my own strange way of making a difference."

"But I thought most freshwater turtles live their whole lives with algae on their shells" I said.

"Yes，sadly，they do，" she replied.

I scratched （挠） my head. "Well then，don't you think your time could be better spent？I mean，I know you are a kind person，but there are fresh water turtle living in lakes all around the world.And 99% of these turtles don't have kind people like you to help them clean off their shells.So…how exactly is your work here really helping？"

Guangfulin Relics Park （广富林遗址公园） is about four kilometers away from Sheshan Hill.

 its text is not long — only about 3100 Chinese characters, the book is divided into 18 different parts. Many of  (old) stories about the whole world come from this great ancient book. In Shan Hai Jing, Ji Liang  (describe) a white horse with a red mane and golden eyes. People believe that riding it on long journeys will bring them  long and healthy life.

Joined by the "Village Super" team from Qiandongnan, Guizhou and lovely children from all 56 ethnic groups, the performance (perfect) mixes traditional folk art and modern music. The program reached a record audience rating of over 40%. According to Xinhua News Agency, it successfully makes ancient Chinese culture (live) and fully shows the unique beauty of Chinese-style romance.

The Lezuo dance, a traditional folk art, is made up of music, songs and dances. It is loved by the Hani and Yi groups and is mainly practiced in the villages of Honghe County, which is part of Honghe Hani and Yi areas in Yunnan Province.

The name "Lezuo" means everyone dances together. This group dance form is special because it is open to all and can be changed easily. These qualities help it stay lively as a way to show cultural confidence and joy.

The Lezuo dance has a history of more than 100 years, and it has a deep connection to the customs of the Hani and Yi communities. In the past, it was a way for people to gather, especially during festivals, weddings and harvest celebrations. Over time, the dance has changed a little but kept its central meaning.

The Lezuo dance has no strict rules on when, where or how many people join. But it should obey this order: soft singing starts first, with a live band playing. Musicians don't dance. They just sing happily to improve the mood. Next, dancers, usually in pairs (2, 4, 6, etc.), stand in a circle and move gently. Their dancing is soft: arms move like dragonflies' wings, and knees bend with music. Different but going well with steps show the special beauty of their cultures. 

The Lezuo dance is very important to the Hani and Yi people. It is not only an art form but also a way for people to connect to each other and their communities. In history, it helped different groups live in peace in different areas of Yunnan. Its music and movements carry the shared history, traditions and hopes of the Hani and Yi people, expressing their rich culture and strong friendship.

It is still popular in the areas where it comes from, but modern cultural influences and not enough efforts to protect it have put this art form in danger. If we take no action, fewer young people will learn it, and it may even disappear one day.
