In China, there are many amazine intangible cultural heritages. Ono of the  (fantastic) ones is the iron flower display. It has a long history and is (deep) rooted(植根于) in the local culture. 

The iron flower display is not only a special art form but also  way to express people's good wishes. The iron  (heat)by the craftsmen at a very high temperature until it becomes liquid. Then, they use special tools to splash the liquid iron into the air. When the liquid iron meets the cold air, it  (turn) into beautiful sparks, just like a shower of flowers.

The Cool Can isa self-cooling can. . Although he never studied engineering, he spent years trying to create-a can that could cool a drink in minutes. 

The Cool Can works when you push a button on its bottom.

This works because of a special layer of crystals. (晶体) inside the can's walls. When you push the button, water is released, which mixes with the crystals. This creates a reaction(反应) that takes in heat. ín addition to being easy to use, the Cool Can could also help reduce the need for refrigerators. According to the United Nations, refrigerators use 17% of the world's electricity. Plus, unlike plastic bottles, the Cool Can itself is fully recyclable. 

 A survey of 100 university students by Vyse's company, deltaHInnovations, found that 81% would choose a self-cooling can over a normal one when drinking on the go, while 73% would be happy to pay more if it meant their drink was cold. 

Vyse is already talking to drink companies like Coca-Cola and Red Bull. If all goes well, the Cool Can could be on sale by 2026.

"But what exactly is respect? How can you show it? And how do you earn it?

Respect often means different things to different people. There are several aspec ts that many people can agree on, though. For example, at its most basic level, respect means being kind and thoughtful to others. 

Respect is important because it sets the proper stage for all our human interactions (人际交往) . Friendship, love and even basic communıcation must all start with respect. 

Everyone wants to be respected. To earn and deserve respect, though, you must also show respect to others. It's always a two-way street. You can't be disrespectful to others and expect respect in return. Respect can take many forms, such as not making fun of others and putting yourself in other people's shoes and thinking about how they feel. In short, observe the Golden Rule: treat others the way you want to be treated. 

It's easy to show respect. Be polite. Look for the best in people rather than focusing on their faults. Make others comfortable when they're nervous. Help out whenever you can. When you pay it forward, amazing things can happen. 

However, not everyone will show you respect all the time. In fact, you'll probably see examples of disrespectful behaviour each and every day. How you respond to disrespectful behaviour, though, can make a huge difference. 

If you choose to respond to disrespectful behaviour by acting disrespectfully yourself, you'll gain nothing. You'll only continue the pattern of disrespectful behaviour and set a bad example. Instead, act respectfully and set a good example. Consistently (一贯地)acting respectfully might just help others learn from your example!

Buck did not read the newspapers. He did not know that trouble was coming for every big dog in California. Gold-diggers(淘金者) had found gold in northwest Canada, and these men wanted big, strong dogs to work for them in the cold and snow of the north.

Buck growled (低吼). Gradually it was hard for him to breathe when the rope was pulled hard around his neck. He jumped at the man in anger. The man caughtBuck and forced him to lie on his back. For a few moments he was unable to move. When the train arrived, the two men threw him into the train. . .

Last week we went on a school trip to a science museum. Ms Liu, the guide, showed us around a smart home.

We started with the front door. Ms Liu asked me to ring the doorbell. I didn't notice the tiny camera that was fixed just above it. After I pressed (按) the doorbell, the camera sent a live video (视频直播) to the homeowners. "They can electronically open the door when they are not at home," said Ms Liu.

The other thing I couldn't see on the door was a lock. "There must be one," I thought. At this time, Ms Liu took out a smart phone and put it against the door. And it opened. "Oh, the key is on the smart phone."

We're staying with Lucy's uncle in Hunan Province, and I'm having a  (wonder) time here in Zhangjiajie. It's a magic land of mountains, forests and rivers. It's very large. It's famous  the strange shape of its tall rocks. Some of  (they) look like humans, and others look like wild animals.

Few people knew about online food delivery (外卖) apps ten years ago, but today, many would find it hard to live without them. For better or for worse, online food delivery services have changed the way we eat. 

These services no doubt have many advantages. They provide jobs for millions of people and help restaurants find more customers. Since the apps are very easy to use, they also do good to customers: we can now have meals delivered at any time of day. This is especially important for people who might not have time to cook. Not only do these apps save time, they also provide us with plenty of restaurants to choose from.  They can buy meals and foods more easily with these apps.

 First, they make it even easier to order unhealthy food. Food safety is another problem: it can be hard to know where the food comes from. As delivery men need to send the orders as quickly as possible, some pay little attention to traffic rules.  What's more, delivery services are creating too much packaging waste, and this will be harmful to the environment.

There are many advantages of online food delivery services, but we need to make sure that we make the right choices in the long run. We should do our best to avoid waste. We also need to make sure what we eat is healthy. Next time you are thinking about ordering in, ask yourself whether you really need to. Most of the time, it's better to buy what you need and cook by yourself.

It may sound hard to believe that animals can predict earthquakes, but many events seem to support this idea.

On 4th February 1975, Chinese officials ordered people in Haicheng, Liaoning Province to leave their homes and stay outdoors. They believed a disaster (灾难) was coming, partly because of animals' strange behaviour. For example, people reported seeing groups of toads (蟾蜍) appear in the streets and hibernant (冬眠的) snakes coming out of the ground. Just hours later, a large 7.3-magnitude earthquake rocked the city.

Another example happened in December 2004 in a national park in Sri Lanka. The animals seemed to sense that something was wrong that day. The birds flew away for no reason, and the elephants ran to higher ground. A few minutes later, there was a huge earthquake deep under the sea.

However, scientists say that while these are interesting examples of animals behaving strangely before earthquakes, it doesn't necessarily mean that animals have the ability to predict natural disasters. It could just be a reaction. All animals have the instinct (本能) to avoid dangers.

So how do they do it? Well, animals have highly developed senses that allow them to pick up on environmental changes that we might not even notice. Some have extremely strong hearing or smell, while others can detect changes in atmospheric pressure (大气压). For example, fish can sense changes in water pressure, so they may jump out of the water or swim in unusual ways before an earthquake.

Although scientists may not agree on animals' special ability, it doesn't hurt to pay a little more attention to the animals around you.

Family education plays a big role in one's life. Good parents will greatly influence their children. Our group wants to know what great values teenagers learn from their parents and how often they communicate with their parents. So a survey was made among 1,000 students in our school including the first, second and third students. Here are the diagrams showing the results.

Family is the first classroom for teenagers, and parents are their first teachers. The character and habits that teenagers develop have a lot to do with their parents. Parents should pay attention to their words and acts because teenagers will follow parents' behavior. Parents should serve as role models for their teenage children. They should show positive behavior (积极行为), such as kindness, honesty, and respect, which their children can learn from them. By setting a good example, parents can help shape their children's character and habits in a positive way.
