One recent weekend, I decided to learn how to make jiaozi with my grandmother. I thought it would be fun and easy at the very beginning, but soon it came to me that it wasn't as simple as it looked.

At first, I didn't pay attention to the sharp (锋利的) knife while cutting vegetables. My finger got cut because of my carelessness. Luckily, it wasn't serious. Grandma was nervous, and quickly helped me clean the cut. Through the painful lesson, I learned the hard way that safety should always come first.

After that accident (意外), I continued working with Grandma. We made the dough (面团), mixed the filling, and started shaping the dumplings. However, I kept making mistakes. The dumplings I made were ugly. It was so discouraging, but Grandma kept encouraging me.

Until noon, we had a plate full of dumplings. Dad ate my ugliest dumpling first. "Tastes better than it looks!" he laughed. Mom hugged me and said, "They're the most delicious dumplings I have ever had. I am so proud of you!" I was deeply moved by her encouraging words.

Now I understand that making jiaozi isn't just about the final product it is about learning patience, having fun with my family, and improving through mistakes. Mistakes aren't signs of weakness. Instead, they should be viewed (看待) as stepping stones to achievements.

A new family moved in next door to Rico. Rico's mum wanted to make dinner for them on Friday. But she didn't know  to cook. Rico had an idea. "Let's have tacos (炸玉米饼). We can make them by  ," he said. His mum thought it was a good idea, "But we still have to  things from the shop." Rico took out a piece of  and a pencil, and wrote down some things: shells, butter and meat. His mother  beans (豆), onions and tomatoes to the list.

Back at home, they cooked dinner . Rico set the table. When new neighbors arrived, the tacos were ready. Everyone enjoyed the  tacos and it was a great way to welcome the new family to the neighborhood.

Lego bricks (乐高积木) are popular with children all around the world. With those bricks, you can make anything. They are a great toy to play with. Now, for the first time, Lego makes Braille (盲文) Bricks in English and French. They are a profitable toy for blind (失明的) children.

Do you know which animal has the most teeth in the world?They are snails. And they're my favourite animals. I can easily find them in gardens, forests, and in our own yards. 

Snails are slow - moving animals with a soft body and a hard shell. The of their whole body is between 15 and 25 grams. But they don't have , so they just move on the ground. It may seem slow to us, but it is quite for a snail. 

One amazing fact about snails is that they can cary more than 10 their body weight on their back. If a snail weighs（重）20 grams, it could about 200 grams of things!It doesn't look like a animal. The most amazing thing about snails is that they can sleep for 3 years. 

Snails are helpful in the world. They make the soil（土壤）better when they move around. It can help plants keep in good health.

When is the best time to visit the US？

The US is a very big country. It is about 3, 000 miles from the east coast to the west coast, so choose carefully the places to see and the time to go. Bring a map because you may want to travel around. 

New York and Washington DC are good places to visit in May or October, but in winter there is a lot of snow. 

The best time to visit New England is in September. The weather gets cooler, and the green leaves start to turn gold, then brown. Bring your camera so you can take photos of the autumn trees. 

California is on the Pacific coast, and the weather is fine all year round. Take your swimming clothes because you might want to go swimming in the sea, even in December. 

In Seattle, in the northwest, it is not very cold but it rains a lot, so bring an umbrella. In Alaska, the days are long and warm in summer, but may be cool in the evening. In winter, Alaska can be very very cold. Lf you want to visit Alaska, you had better go in summer. Do not forget to bring a warm sweater with you. 

In Texas and the southeast, it is usually very hot and sunny compared to other places. There are storms from time to time in summer and autumn.
