"Daoqing Opera in Jinhua" was listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage(国家非物质文化遗产) in2008. Daoqing Opera  one of the local art forms in Zhejiang Province. It has a  history which started before Ming Dynasty. It's also named "News Singing". It is  sung in Jinhua local language, with simple actions. More importantly, the performers often play different  which can be really lively.

Daoqing Opera helps  Chinese traditional values. Now, there are often Daoqing exhibitions and performances in communities and schools.

Ollie and I were on our way home, discussing what presents we could choose for Mother's Day.

"I wanted to buy roses for mom and grandma," said Ollie, "but everything is so1 at the flower store. I can't afford it!"

Just then, our neighbor Mrs. Robinson, who was 2 her garden, waved to us.

Mike: It's reported that scientists found pots of honey in Tutankhamen's tomb(图坦卡蒙墓)in ancient Egypt and the honey was still sweet and eatable. That's really amazing!Mr. Wilson, could you explain it to us?

Mr. Wilson: Sure. There are three main reasons. Firstly, most bacteria(细菌)can't grow in honey because it's acidic(酸性的).The acid in honey kills any bacteria trying to grow in it.

Mr. Wilson: Ancient people loved honey.  Ancient Egyptians used honey to treat wounds, burns or skin diseases. Since bacteria didn't easily grow in it, the honey could be used in a way similar to a bandage(绷带). It protected the skin while it healed.

At the 2025 Michelin Guide(米其林指南) Shanghai event, Chen Lina's dim sum(点心) restaurant, Wu You Xian, got a Michelin star. It was the first dim sum restaurant in Shanghai to achieve this honor.

Chen Lina is a national first-class dim sum chef. She sees her xiaolongbao as her "lovely children" and "works of art". At 19, she started learning at the famous Lyubolang restaurant in Shanghai. In 2005, she went to Japan. She introduced Shanghai dim sum there and made it a great success. Then, she came back to China and opened Wu You Xian in Zhaojialou, an ancient town. The name Wu You Xian comes from the Japanese word "Oishii", which means delicious, and also has a nice meaning in Chinese about freshness.

Since its opening, Wu You Xian has been very popular. Chen started with pork-filled xiaolongbao. Her love for dumplings made her create more tastes, like crab xiaolongbao. The first time she sold it, she was so excited that she couldn't sleep. Over the years, Chen developed 28 tastes.

She uses very good and natural ingredients(原料). Each xiaolongbao is carefully made, weighing about 40 grams. Chen also pays attention to the vinegar(醋) for the xiaolongbao. She chooses different kinds of vinegar to match different tastes of the buns.

    ▲    Once, a customer told her that her xiaolongbao had made his family happy. This made Chen feel that her work was really meaningful. Wu You Xian has won many awards, but for Chen, the most important thing is that so many customers like her food. At busy times, more than 1,0oo customers come to the restaurant in one day.

Finally, in early July, Wang chose an old people's flat in Qujing, a city in the southwest of China. The flat provided free meals. She didn't have to cook on her own. This saved her a lot of trouble.
