The United Nations set up the International Day of Happiness in 2012 to remind us that happiness is a basic human goal and right（权利）。

It was celebrated for the first time in 2013. On that day, we celebrated hundreds of" Happy Heroes"——those who did so much to bring happiness to others. ①They helped the homeless to ____a comfortable life and the poor kids to go to school. 

The 2014 Day of Happiness actions asked people to share pictures of making them happy. People all over the world showed their favorite pictures on the Internet. "It' s exciting to see so many people sharing photos of what makes them happy. " Joe, a senior high school student from Canada said. The 2015 Day of Happiness actions gave attention on relationships. Modern society is leaving more and more people feeling lonely. ② On that day, thousands of people all around the world reached out to make new connections with others. They visited their neighbors, gave calls to the doctors they didn' t know very well, drove the strangers to stations for free. . . 

The theme of the 2025 Day of Happiness is "Care and Share". It encourages people to enhance community cohesion（凝聚力）and improve overall well-being by expressing kindness, helping each other, and sharing resources. 

Do you get angry when someone stands too close to you or talks too loudly? Many of us do. What makes us feel  about these people?

Perhaps it about personal space. Some scientists say that humans need a distance（距离） themselves and strangers. Personal space means not only space around the body, but also around the senses. People may feel uncomfortable when with certain sounds,  or looks. For example, some people don't like the sound of a man shouting into a mobile phone in a shop. Or maybe they don't like sitting next to a woman on a bus  a lot of perfume（香水）on. 

While people like to  their personal space, they may not know they are doing it. Many people hold newspapers them on the subway. Perhaps they are  the newspapers to separate themselves from other people. 

How much people care about personal space is different  culture to culture. In Latin cultures, people are more comfortable standing close to each other. , in the USA, people need more personal space. 

AI（人工智能）makes our lives easier and better. Let's see the amazing AI. 

Harold Kirk Apeland, a Canadian, has lived in China for 17 years. After a long period of learning about China, he found that China was not what he had imagined and many foreigners did not know China at all. 

Having lived in China for many years, Kirk has experienced China's big changes in person. And he has his own views of China' s development and future. So he made some online videos to show his life in China. Through these videos, many foreigners saw a different China and changed their opinions about China. 

For Chinese well-off life（小康生活）, he said in his video that"Tomorrow is better than today", and every Chinese has a goal for a better tomorrow. They want a better living condition. They want good education for their children. They want to make themselves, their families and their country stronger and richer. They have been working towards the goals for several decades. And he thinks they' re getting the rewards of that right now. Kirk says he can always see the hard work of the Chinese, which can be seen in his videos. 

"It's easy to 'get lost' in China because everything is so convenient. Take the subway for 3 yuan, 10 minutes to Nanning. Buses and planes are convenient and cheap. There are things I'm used to in China that I can't find in my own country. I'm used to walking out of the house and turning around the street corner to buy roast duck. I'm used to going to the farmers' market instead of the supermarket to buy food. . . " says Kirk. 

As a foreigner who has experienced the life in China. Kirk is full of hope for China's development.
