Why don't you start a hobby? There are many hobbies you can enjoy. One of the best hobbies is collecting (收集). People collect many things. 

Stones are fun to collect. You don't have to go very far to find them. Very often you can find them just under your feet. You may have to dig (挖) a little. Some stones are pretty. Some stones are very expensive. 

People often like to collect buttons. Some like old buttons (纽扣). Others collect new ones. Buttons can be made of wood, glass, shells—almost anything. Some buttons are large and others are small. Some have pictures on them. Others do not. There are many different kinds. It's so much fun collecting buttons. 

Some people collect signatures (签名). They get their friends to write their names. Other people collect the signatures of famous people. Everyone writes names in a different way. Some names are not always easy to read. Different writings make signature collecting a lot of fun.

Lots of people are good at something when they are young. And quite a lot of children know what job they want  (choose) when they grow up. But not everyone opens their own company. This is what Isabella Rose Taylor did. She started  (design) clothes when she was eight years old.

At the time, Isabella was  (interest) in painting. She used a lot of reds, blues and yellows, and these  (colour) helped her to think of new clothes which she could make.

When Isabella started designing and making clothes, she just did it for fun. Soon many people liked her designs and she started selling them online,  she has a company now. She runs her business at home. She has turned one room into  office and another into a studio (工作室) where the clothes are made. As a designer, she often takes part in different fashion  (show) to bring her creative designs to public attention.

Isabella has also paid time to finish school. She's smart, and she has thousands fans online. It's wonderful that she has already had people who work for her. Above all, she  (real) knows what is needed to succeed in the world of fashion.

"I get to follow  (I) dream and be a teenager at the same time. I think I'm pretty lucky," she says.

Collecting

Coins may be too expensive for students, but postcards, bookmarks, even T-shirts can be great things to collect. Just like Simon, some students have collected many old bottles. Students can collect things that don't cost much. Many students enjoy collecting things when they visit a place. When students collect things, the most important thing is that they can learn more about the world.

Writing

Writing can make students write better. It can be a great hobby for students. Writing a diary can help students go into a private (私人的) world. It is important for them to know how they really feel. They can also write stories about the people and things around them.

Building

Students like making models, birdhouses and anything else with their own hands. Building is a great hobby because it is easy to start. Most students can find interesting things to build. Building can help them have many ideas to make new things, so students can have good creativity.

Music

Do you dream of being a music star? Music can give students self-confidence (自信). They can sing songs and play a piece of music. Sometimes students can learn music in a music club and make friends with people who have same hobbies.

③Do you want to dance? Dancing is great. It helps you look good and be healthy. Join the dancing club and dance for the school art festival on 27th May. You can have lessons on Monday and Wednesday. Our beautiful art teachers, Ms Li and Ms Wu, will teach you. Come and join us!

④Everyone loves delicious food. I think you love it too. How about joining the cooking club? Here Mrs Ma can teach you to make delicious food and help you have good eating habits (习惯). There are two cooking lessons on the weekend. You can ask your mom or dad to take the lessons too.
