Perhaps you are an average student with average intelligence. You do well enough in school, but you probably think you will never be a top student.  Here's how to get good grades. 

Plan your time carefully. Make a list of your weekly tasks. Then make a plan. Fill in committed time such as eating, sleeping, meetings and classes. Then decide on good, regular time for studying. Be sure to spend enough time on your normal reading and work tasks. Of course, studying shouldn't occupy (占用) all of the free time on the plan. 

Make good use of your time in class. Listening to what the teacher says in class means less work later. Sit where you can see and hear well. 

Study regularly.  Review important points mentioned in class as well as points you remain confused about. If you review your notes and textbook regularly, the material will become more meaningful and you will remember it longer. 

 The purpose of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject. The world won't end if you don't pass a test, so don't worry excessively about a single test. Tests provide grades, but they also let you know what you need to spend more time studying, and they help make your knowledge permanent.

You don't have to take a formal English class to improve your English skills. In fact, you can be your own teacher! Here are some tips to help you learn English by yourself.

Never give up! This is one lesson I learned when I was very young.

At the age of four, not knowing a single word of 1 , I started school. I felt2 because I couldn't talk to other kids. Maybe I was 3 because I never got used to talking with others. I only knew Spanish, and English was just a mixture (混合) of4 . When the teacher spoke English, the5 became faster and faster and then became a tornado (龙卷风) ripping through my mind. I was unable to6 . I got so confused (困惑的) and I didn't know what to do. I sometimes felt like crying, but I kept telling myself never to7 .
