I grew up in an unhappy home. My parents often argued and got into a big fight. I always thought that I'd get out as soon as possible. Now, at the age of 20. I have a good job and a nice house, and I really enjoy the independence I've got. 

My problem is that several of my friends wish they had places like mine. Although they still live with their parents, they make my home as theirs. It started with some of them spending the weekends with me. But now they just show up (出现) any time they like. They bring friends over. talk on the phone and stay up late. 

I enjoy having my friends here sometimes—it makes the place feel comfortable and warm—but this is my home, not a party house. So why can't I ask my friends to respect (尊重) my privacy (隐私)?

If your family didn't care about your feelings when you were a child, you probably have trouble letting others know your feelings now. 

And if you have your friends around you to rebuild (重建) a happy family atmosphere (气氛), you may fear that saying no will bring back the kind of conflict that you grew up with— or lose the nice atmosphere you now enjoy. You need to understand that in true friendship it's OK to put your own needs and feelings first.

I've always disliked getting up in winter. As a child, I would drag myself out of bed, my eyes half-closed, and watch my school uniform hanging in front of the bed. These days, I set several alarms to ensure I'm woken up.
