Many people think that keeping a diary is something that teenage girls do. It's seen as a space to write down secret things you don't want anyone else to know. But in fact, your diary doesn't have to have pink flowers on it. Keeping a diary is a very old tradition. It can be useful for many different kinds of people. Many famous people have kept diaries. 

Keeping a diary is said to be good for health. It improves not only just mental (心理的) and emotional (情感的) health, but also physical health. Writing uses your left brain (大脑). While your left brain is busy, your right brain is free to create and feel. This allows you to use all of your brain power to better understand yourself, others, and the world around you. 

This even means allowing ideas that trouble you to come out in your writing. It helps improve your feelings. It is useful if a person meets a hard decision. Sometimes just writing down different ideas helps you better understand a problem. This is helpful if you are having a disagreement with others. 

①Celebrating the New Year happens in every country. But each country has its own way to celebrate the New Year. 

②The Chinese people celebrate(庆祝) the New Year twice. One is on January 1st, and the other is in January or February. It's the Chinese New Year. People have many activities to celebrate the New Year, like watching lion dances or having a family dinner. 

③People in Thailand celebrate the New Year by pouring water on friends and visitors. They think this will bring much rain in the next growing season. Their New Year is usually in April or May. It is very hot at that time of a year in Thailand. 

④In Switzerland (瑞士), people often go skiing to celebrate the New Year. They sing in the ice and snow world. In parts of Switzerland, people celebrate it by dressing up to walk from farmhouse to farmhouse. They jump up and down to make the cowbells ring. They hope this will sweep away the bad luck of the old year. 

⑤People all over the world have a great time on New Year's Day. They often say "Happy New Year" to each other. 

There is an old tree on a dry land. The tree has so many branches (树枝). It brings shadow to hundreds of travelers. 

One day, two travelers got to the tree. They walked for a long time in the hot sun. They were too hot and tired to walk anymore. Luckily, they found the big tree. 

They decided to take a rest under the tree. They slept there for a while. When they woke up, they felt hungry and one traveler climbed up the tree. But he was sad to find nothing. 

He started to say bad words to the tree. "Oh, this is just a useless tree without any fruit on it!" The other traveler said nothing about the tree but asked his friend to be quiet. However, the traveler in the tree still shouted at the tree. 

The tree couldn't stand the traveler at last. He said in a sad but strong voice, "You can't be so ungrateful to me. Just look back to the moment when you got here in the hot sun! I gave you a cool and comfortable place to rest. You would die now without me! " 

Many people do much for us, but we sometimes forget to give thanks but only complain (抱怨). Make sure not to say any bad words to the one who has helped us. 

During the Spring Festival of 2024, nine fantastic movies came out. Here are three of them. 

It was in a small town in England on one cold night. An old farmer1 , "Excuse me, sir. May I sleep in your barn (牲口棚) tonight?" It was from a young man called Jack quietly standing there, tired and cold.2 the old farmer refused (拒绝) him.

I have two friends in our class, Rick and Scott.

Besides, the smart wristband looks great.  We often see teenagers wearing wristbands.

Thirdly, today, many people have known the importance of health. Some people play sports every day to keep healthy.  The wristband shows the results every day and they'll know if they get enough exercise.

However, some parents still have some worries.  They think the teenagers are under the radiation (辐射) all the time.
