Warning: this article may make you want to sleep. Why? It's because we' re looking into the world of sleep cycles（周期）。

Our bodies sleep in 90-minute cycles, experiencing five to six each night. Each sleep cycle has several stages（阶段）. At first, you enter a light stage of sleep. Your body temperature drops, and the heart rate slows. Next comes deep sleep. It's difficult to wake up during this stage. This is when your body repairs from the tiredness in the daytime and builds up energy for the next day. Finally, you get into the rapid eye movement（REM, 快速眼动）sleep stage. It is when you will have lots of dreams. After REM sleep, the cycle starts again. 

Waking up in the morning in the" wrong" stage can make you feel especially tired. An app called Sleep Calculator can help you stop this from happening. It's a tool that can work out the perfect bedtime for you. 

It's also worth noticing that you shouldn't just start your sleep cycle whenever you want. Many young people go to bed late and get up late, such as sleeping from 2 am to 10 am. They think as long as they have 8 hours of sleep, everything will be fine. 

But in fact, our bodies can tell the time, especially by using light and temperature. That's why sometimes we feel even more tired after oversleeping.

My Food Memories

My grandmother can do magic in the kitchen. She can make all kinds of dishes. Chicken soup and combread are her signature dishes. （两个都）of them are delicious, but I like the chicken soup better. It was always full of chicken, green onions, and  （胡萝卜）. Every time we had it, the laughter filled the room. The  （美妙的）memories remained strong in my heart. 

When I grew up, I  （决定）to make the soup myself. I tried many times. （然而）, it never tasted the same as hers.

Yingsha: Thanks!  You know, it's a difficult match.

Yingsha: My parents took me to a club when I was five. And soon I loved it.

The day before the race, Marisol invited Jobie to a park party. To try a new slide（滑梯）, Jobie took off her lucky shoes and put them near the slide carefully. When she finished and went back to get her shoes, her heart almost stopped. 

"My shoes are gone. " she cried. 

The teammates helped her look for the shoes but couldn't find them. 

The big day came. The best track teams in the county got together for the championships. 

Wearing the new shoes, Jobie could even feel her feet dancing nervously. "Without my lucky shoes, will I make it?" she worried. 

"Go for it, Jobie!" Teammates patted her back as she slowly walked down to the starting line. 

The race started. With teammates cheering, Jobie tried her best and finally crossed the finishing line. 

"Jobie, you broke the record!" Marisol cheered, "Lucky you!"

"Lucky me?" Jobie looked at her feet and then smiled at her teammates. She suddenly understood—true luck wasn't in shoes, but inside her. "Yes, " she nodded, "lucky me!"

①Many people always want to be happy, but they may not know where to find it. Here are some simple tips to make your life happier and more meaningful. 

②Being positive is important! When things go wrong, try to see the good side. For example, if you don't do well in a test, you can see it as a chance to learn from your mistakes and improve. This can help you feel better and find happiness. 

③Stay with loved ones. Spending time with family and friends can bring you great joy. It's a good idea to share your feelings with them and create happy memories together. A warm hug or a nice talk can make your day.

④Doing what you love also leads to happiness. Whether it's painting, singing, playing sports, or taking part in activities, doing what you love can make you truly experience happiness. When you' re really into something you like, time seems to fly, and you' ll feel really great. 

⑤Remember, happiness is like gentle wind that touches our hearts. It doesn't always have to be something big. It often hides in the simple moments of our daily lives.
