Do you know "spidermen" in the city? They are not real spiders. They are window cleaners who work high above the ground. Their job is dangerous but important.

These workers usually start their work early in the morning. They carry special tools and wear safety ropes to make sure they are safe. Cleaning windows of tall buildings is not easy. Strong winds, heavy rain or hot sun—all these are big challenges for them. But they never give up.

However, there are also joys in their work. Many people are grateful to them. Some people even prepare drinks or snacks for them on hot or cold days. When they see the clean windows and the smiles of people, they feel proud. They know their work makes the city more beautiful.

International Workers' Day is a special day for them too. On that day, people around the world celebrate the hard work of all workers. These "spidermen" also get recognition for their efforts.

I am a community librarian. I  (work) here for two years and really love this job. It has both fun moments and hard parts.

My job can be  (challenge). Every morning, I need to tidy the messy bookshelves left by readers. Books  (put) in order every day so that people can find them more easily. Before starting the job, I took a short  (train). It taught me how to take care of different kinds of books and talk to readers nicely.

Mr Wang is our community postman. He has delivered mail here for 30 years and will retire (退休) soon. Holding a stack of (一摞) letters, he recalls his working life.

Dong Yuhui was a teacher of New Oriental (新东方) Education in the past, but now he is a live streamer (直播博主). He was born in Shanxi Province. In 2019, he moved  Beijing from Xi'an, and became an English teacher at New Oriental Education.

After the new policy (政策) was introduced, he was moved to his new job at Dongfang Zhenxuan as a host (主持人). "It has been a hard time, but we didn't give up and insisted on live streaming for over 10 hours a day. I am glad that I didn't give up  agricultural products (农产品) online," said Dong.

Dong  steaks (牛排) in both Chinese and English, then people began to notice that the channel (频道) was very  from others. While he was talking about the steak, Dong also taught the viewers how to  steak in English at a restaurant. "About future plans, I am planning to sell more agricultural products to  farmers' incomes (收入). If the products are sold, farmers  more money." Dong said, "My father is my example. he is a busy farmer, he always tries  best to buy and read newspapers." After hearing the words, we understood  Oriental Selection (东方甄选) paid attention to books and agricultural products. Dong left a comment saying that: "As someone who started reading the paper at university, it's really unexpected to appear in a story."

The city shines brighter  us.
