My Career Path

If you visit Scarborough Beach, you may see many wonderful sand sculptures (沙雕). They were created by Mark Lewis, a sand art designer.

Lewis first made the sand sculpture just for fun. He enjoyed  (him) when making the sculpture, so he decided to make it a job. However, when he shared this idea his family, they didn't support him. Making sand sculptures is difficult,  Lewis didn't give up. He worked hard  (improve) his skills. In his free time, he preferred going to the beach to staying at home. Finally, his hard work paid off, and he achieved his dream.

"There are many  (step) in making a sculpture. First, put wet sand into a mould (模具). Then, some tools  (need) to shape the sand. Next, start making the small parts. Finally, you need to put them together. I must work  (careful). Every tiny part of the sculpture needs my full attention," Lewis said.

Lewis knows that his sculptures don't last long because  the weather. "That's why I find this kind of work interesting," said Lewis. "It drives me to keep discovering the beauty around us." For him, the happiness these sculptures bring to people is  (important) than keeping them forever.

Lewis hopes his sand art will  (like) by more people. He also encourages everyone to try making sand sculptures. He says, "All it takes is some patience and creativity."

These jobs may not seem exciting, but they are necessary. Every job has its value. The world needs different kinds of hard-working people. We should learn to respect every job and every person who works hard.

Nowadays, many young people hope to have jobs that are both interesting and meaningful. They do not want to do the same work without any creativity. More teenagers are starting to think about jobs connected with art, technology and helping others.
