Winter can feel like hard work with its short days and wet weather. However, you can learn to enjoy the season.
Darker months may be difficult.
During winter, there is less daylight and it gets dark earlier. It's often rainy, windy and cold, so being outside if you are not wrapped(包裹) up properly isn't much fun. FrancesTrussell, who helps people with their health, says, "If you draw a picture of a happy day, it's likely that it would have a bright, sunny sky. So you might find darker winter days more difficult. "
Countries in northern Europe have even less daylight than in the UK in winter. People there don't wish it was brighter or warmer. They accept it and they know spring will come. The Danish enjoy"hygge". It is a nice feeling of being at home with loved ones. They enjoy delicious food and drinks with friends.

What will the future be like? No one is quite sure about it. However, I think there must be so many robots around us.
Some will do difficult and dangerous jobs like flying planes and driving subway trains, and some will do easy and simple jobs. They will help humans a lot.
In some ways robots will do things better. They'll work more quickly but make fewer mistakes than humans. More importantly, they won't get bored and tired even though they do the same job again and again.
They can be taught to do many different jobs in factories. First, workers will"tell" their electronic brains(电子大脑) how they will do a job. Then they will remember each move. When the robot starts to work, its brain will give orders.
If a robot' s hand stops working, or if something gets in the way, it won't be able to do the next part of the job. So it will stop and ask for help, and then a human engineer will repair(修理) it.
They are making our lives easier and easier, and so will they in the future. Maybe each of us will have one or two in our houses in the future. Without doubt(疑问), robots will appear around us at any time in the future.

When you finish your homework and get to relax, what do you do? Do you lie on your bed and scroll through(浏览) your phone? Many people find that this kind of entertainment only brings boredom and emptiness.
Contrary(相反) to what many people may think, playing isn't just a waste of time. Having the ability to play and relax meaningfully during your free time is important.
"Leisure(闲暇) doesn't improve quality of life if one doesn't know how to use it effectively, " James Wallman, the author ofTime and How to Spend It, told CNBC Make It, explaining that some experiences are"junk experiences" while others are like"superfoods".
The"superfood" activities put you into a state of"flow". It is about"being in the present zone and really enjoying yourself"according to Wallman.
To achieve a state of"flow", there must be a balance between the challenge of the task and your skill level. For example, if you' re trying to create a difficult computer programme but your skill level is low, then you' re likely to feel stressed instead of achieving"flow". On the contrary, if the task is too easy, then boredom will set in and you won't achieve"flow".
When you can enter a state of"flow", it means you have a high leisure quotient(LQ, 玩商). It is an index(指数) used to describe one's ability to relax and play. A high LQ usually means that a person has good control over their life and knows how to develop their potential(潜能) according to China Daily.
Psychological(心理学的) research shows that people with high LQ scores feel happier and generally avoid depression(抑郁) and other mental illnesses. Meanwhile, Kenichi Ohmae, a Japanese management expert, points out that those who can play well will probably succeed.
Instead of doing passive activities like scrolling through short videos, people with high LQ scores actively choose activities that match(匹配) their interests and strengths, giving them consistent(持续的) positive feedback.
According to Wallman, examples of this positive feedback include a memorable story you can share with others, a new skill or a different worldview, greater understanding of the real world and improved relationships or a higher social status(地位).
The next time you find yourself bored with nothing to do, try engaging in some experiences that could benefit you or add to your life.
(1)、According to James Wallman, what are"superfood" activities?A、Activities that make you feel empty. B、Activities that boost(增长) your energy. C、Activities that don't require(要求) much effort. D、Activities that are both enjoyable and challenging.(2)、What does the LQ index measure(衡量)?A、The ability to manage stress effectively. B、Ability in meaningful play and relaxation. C、The potential to lead a successful life. D、The ability to work effectively.(3)、How are people with high LQ scores described?A、They spend much of their time outdoors. B、They are skilled at managing time effectively. C、They prefer to compete in various activities. D、They choose activities that match their interests.(4)、What is the passage mainly about?A、Why LQ is tied to future success. B、Ways to improve a person's LQ. C、The importance of LQ and its effects.
