How to Deal With People Talking About You Behind Your Back

It feels pretty terrible to have people talk about you behind your back. Here are some tips you can follow when you meet gossips(闲话). 

Being talked about behind your back can make you question your strengths and abilities. Don't lose heart. Instead, try to remember your value as a person by thinking about what makes you great. Sit down and make a list about things like "'I'm a great listener!"or "I'm creative!"

If you're feeling sad because of gossips, try to do something happy. For example, you could walk your dog, play with your cat, listen to your favorite music, or even write or draw something. 

Treat them with kindness. Give the person a real compliment(赞美), like, "Wow, Rose, you did a great job on these pictures. " For example, you could hold the door open for them or help them carry something heavy. 

Talk to someone who can help. Sometimes gossips may make it hard for you to do well in study. If this person is known for gossiping, your teacher might want to take action to stop it.

Blind boxes have become very popular toys in China. The idea is simple: the buyers will not know which toy it is until they open the boxes, so it's a bit like gambling(赌博). You may feel happy if you get the things you want, but more often, you can't get what you like. People spend lots of money on their luck. 

Pop Mart is a famous company (公司). It began as a small shop in Beijing's Zhongguancun area selling different kinds of products. Later, the company found toys were its most popular and best-selling products. 

The idea for blind boxes was from gashapon (扭蛋机) in Japan, which sells blind toys. Although the toys inside the blind boxes cost only about 2 dollars, they sell for around 8 dollars each. This brings the company a lot of money. Pop Mart had around 6. 3 billion yuan in revenue (收入) in the year of 2023,1. 7 billion yuan more compared with(与. . . 相比) 2022. 

Nowadays, young people really like this kind of toy. Some buyers have collected over 1,000 dolls. In their eyes, the dolls are symbols of their personalities, or they just want to share something cute. 

However, the blind boxes are as hard to stop as gambling. Some toys are hard to get, so people sell them at higher prices in the second-hand markets. Some countries make rules to control the selling of blind boxes, and they work out well. 

To keep growing, Pop Mart needs to keep making something new and sell more toys. We wish that Pop Mart can be a world-famous company like Disney one day. 

Do you often compare yourself with other people? Whether it's the number of goals you've scored at football or how many books you've read, it's easy to compare yourself with someone else. It's a natural behaviour that helps humans learn from each other, live happily together and achieve more. However,it's not always helpful and you can find yourself falling a comparison trap(对比陷阱). 

Comparison can make us feel good and bad about ourselves. "Comparing up" means seeing someone is better than you and using that to encourage yourself to aim higher and try harder. However, sometimes it can make you feel rubbish about yourself and undermine your confidence. "Comparing down" is when you see someone who seems like they're not doing as well as you. This might make you feel you're doing well, but it can also stop you wanting to improve. 

How do you escape(逃离)comparison trap? Notice how people make you feel and spend time with friends who celebrate your strengths(优势)rather than compare themselves to you. Find ones that make you laugh or show you lovely places instead. Finally, pay attention to your own achievements and how you can improve. The best person you can compete with is yourself. 

Let's make positive comparisons. This means you value your own achievements and not someone else's. Celebrate progress instead of the final result. It doesn't matter if someone is better or faster than you; it's important that how hard you try. Set some goals and pay attention to your progress. Instead of saying"I can't do it", say "I can't do it yet". 

Vanessa and Niki had just begun a friendship. Niki was new to the school, and Vanessa had thought she was a snob(势利的人). That was mostly because Niki hardly said anything, and besides, that was the rumor(谣言)about her. But one day, Niki forgot her notebook in the classroom by accident, and Vanessa returned it to her. Then the two girls started to talk, and they got to know each other. Now Vanessa knew that Niki wasn't a snob, but she still didn't understand why Niki wouldn't talk to anyone.

The next day, Vanessa and Niki waited in the dining hall for Vanessa's other friends. Niki was nervous, but Vanessa said, "Don't worry. Just be yourself. You'll be fine. " Finally, everyone else arrived. 

One of Vanessa's friends took one look at Niki and asked, "Why are you sitting with the snob, Vanessa? Come on and eat with us. " Niki's eyes filled with tears. 

Vanessa took a breath and then said, "I'm sitting with Niki because she's my friend and she's nice. How about finding out for yourself instead of believing every rumor you hear?" For a moment, everyone looked at each other. Then, very slowly, the other girls sat down at the table. At first, nobody said much, but soon, they started talking. By the time lunch was over, Niki realized that Vanessa was right - all she had to do was to be herself. And what everyone else needed to do was to stop believing rumors.

How do you go to school? Many students take the school bus to school, in India, some school buses don't take students to school. They bring schools to students. Why and how?
