10、Lanterns have been part of Chinese culture for centuries and play an important part in many celebrations. In ancient times, there were mainly three kinds of lanterns.
Palace lantern
When making palace lanterns, fine wood was used. The palace lanterns were covered with silk or glass. Different kinds of pictures were drawn on the covers. These lanterns were not only used as lights but also as decorations in palaces.
Gauze lantern
Less expensive bamboo and gauze(薄纱) were used to cover the lantern. Red gauze was used when making them. So red lanterns are always hung on important festivals such as Lantern Festival, Spring Festival and National Day in parks or along main streets. In some famous China-towns abroad, you can see red lanterns all the year round.
Shadow picture lantern

12、The designer of the Apple Computer, Steve Jobs, was not quite successful in his early years. Degree of burns

Treatment
If you have a first-degree burn, follow these steps:
①Cool the burnt area under cool running water.
②Remove jewellery (去除配饰) and any clothing unless stuck to the burn.
③Apply (抹除) a burn ointment or aloe vera. Don't use ice, eggs or oil.

④Cover the burnt area with a clean cloth.
