Zhengding is in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. People once named it as one of the three most important towns in ancient northern (古代北方的) China, and the other two were Beijing and Baoding.

I learned about Zhengding online and fell in love with its ancient town. I took a trip there with my friends last weekend. We started from Beijing and decided to go to Shijiazhuang first because it was time-saving (省时的). On our way to Beijing West Station, the taxi driver asked us where we were going. When I told him "Zhengding", he was excited.

He said that the ancient buildings there were so beautiful that he wanted to see them again.

After arriving at Shijiazhuang Station, we took a bus to the ancient town. With it, we could visit most of the temples (寺庙) there. Every one of them was special and we learned a lot.

At night, when the lights (电灯) were on, the ancient town became so different and beautiful. Not far from the town, there was a popular night market (夜市). We had a great time there too.

As well as being a bookstore owner Shi is also a detective writer. He has written 15 exciting detective novels. Inside his bookstore, there are hundreds of books by famous detective writers like Edgar Allan Poe, Agatha Christie and Keigo Higashino. Shi's own popular books, like Liangshan Hunter, are also in the bookstore.

Shi's love for detective stories started when he read The Complete Sherlock Holmes in middle school. He was really interested in how Sherlock worked out crimes. When he was in college (大学),   he started writing his own detective stories. In 2011, he published (出版) his first novel, Criminal Fragment, and has kept writing all these years. Shi gets ideas from watching the world around him and reading a lot of books. "Reading helps me be creative." he said.

Although many of the best-selling books are by writers from other countries, Shi is more interested in promoting (宣传) Chinese detective writers. He thinks Chinese detective writers are getting better and better and their works often show Chinese culture.

Shi hopes that by keeping his bookstore running, he can help more Chinese detective writers become successful. "I'll keep writing and keep the bookstore open for as long as I can." he said.

The man said, "It's good."

One of his friends thought, "What a careless (淡漠的) man he is!"

An hour later, the man's daughter came again and said, "Dad, Mom found that ring."

Seeing this, his friend asked, "When the ring was lost, you said ‘It's good'. When your wife got the ring back, you said ‘It's good' too. Why so?"

The man said, "When the ring was lost, should I point fingers at my wife? No. That has happened. Shouting at others doesn't help. And things come or go all the time. I have to leave everything behind one day. So, if I leave behind a little bit from now on, it will be easier in the end. It's good, right?"

"It makes perfect sense (很有道理)," the man's friend said. The man said, "When my wife found the ring, she was happy, my daughter was happy, and I was happy. So many people were happy. So, it's good."

As I got older, I began to play the guitar in our garage (车库). My brother and his friends kept their musical instruments (乐器) there. Then, I would play my favorite songs on the guitar. And I would sing when I played.

It was not just me and my brother. Music runs in the whole family. My favorite family tradition in my early teenage years was our Friday night singing competition. On the first Friday of each month, every one of my family took turns singing a song. But who could sing the most beautifully? That was up to our neighbors (邻居) to decide. We would share the videos of our songs with them. The person who got the most likes would get a prize. It was a lot of fun.

Who is the most important person to you? When people are asked this question, most of their answers are my mother, my son, my daughter and so on. But don't forget that there are some other people who care about you! They are your friends.

In our daily life, friends are very important for us. Every one of us, young or old, should have at least one or two good friends. Our friends will listen to us when we speak, care about us when we are not feeling well, and stay with us when we are in difficulty. Being with friends, this can make us happy.

As everyone needs friends, who can we make good friends with and how can we get on well with each other? Here are some ways.

Make friends with those who work hard. Being with them, you will learn a lot from them.

Reach for their hands when your friends have problems. Friends should always help each other.

Believe in each other. But never believe in those who leave you when you are in difficulty. And never leave your friends when they are in difficulty. Remember, a friend in need is a friend indeed.

Even the best friends may have a fight with each other sometimes. If this happens, don't let the fight last too long. Try to make up with (与……和好) your friends.

In the 21st Century (世纪) Workshop in Ningbo, Zhejiang, kids can have free science lessons from Chen Shaohua. Chen is primary school teacher. Once someone asked him why gave free lessons. " I want to help more kids learn science in a fun way," Chen answered.

First, some young people just imitate (模仿) the people they like. They lose their own styles (风格). Second, some young people spend too much time on such TV shows. So they spend less time on their studies. This is bad for not only their study but also their development (发展).

In my opinion, these shows are social (社会的) activities. They can use these shows to relax themselves. But they should know that the chance to become famous is small for most people. It's their studies.

For many children, video games can be good. Video games have beautiful pictures and exciting stories. Video games also make children think in a creative way. And children have to move their hands and eyes quickly. This can make children think fast. Video games are also a good way to teach children about computers.

However, a study shows that video games can be bad for children. Some video games are scary. And spending too much time playing games on the computer is bad for children's health. Also if children spend too much time on the computer instead of (而不是) doing their homework, they have problems at school and they can get bad grades. Video games do no good to children's social skills (社交技能), either. Playing with friends is very important to children. It teaches them how to get on with (与……相处) other people. If children spend too much time playing by themselves online, they can't learn how to get on with their friends.

All in all, it seems clear that video games can be both good and bad. Children can play video games, but they should learn tobalance it with other things in life.
