It's often said that high school years are quite important in one's lifetime. During this period, people begin to1 what is meaningful to them and how they should live their lives. As for me, I've learnt a lot by volunteering at a hospital during my high school years. 

I used to be a shy girl. When I first began volunteering, I felt very2 about being pushed outside my comfort zone   (舒适区). I was scared to meet people from all walks of life (各行各业).3 , as time went by, I learnt how to introduce myself to others. Also, I was able to make feel at home. This experience turned out to be really4 in the real world.5 .

Thanks to this volunteer experience, I've become a better person with social10 and work experience. I hope that teenagers can take part in all kinds of voluntary work, as it can give you a lot.

The Civilian Mobile Library offers books for free. Readers are invited to take one book every 15 days. They are encouraged to pass it on to someone else once they've finished reading. And they are not expected to return the book. 

The library is just seven square meters in size but houses thousands of books on different subjects. "It might be the smallest library in the world," said Xu Dawei, the owner. "But in another sense, it's also the biggest because the books keep moving. Once, a reader took a book about Chinese garden history. After finishing it, the reader passed it to a neighbour. The neighbour then took it to Germany!" 

"I've read thousands of books," Xu said. "Books have truly changed my life. " The idea of starting a library took shape in 2000, when Xu recommended(推荐) online a list of his favorite books to university students, but many of them said they couldn't find those books in their school libraries or local bookstores. So he began sending his books to readers for free. "They all wrote me letters expressing their thanks. It inspired me to take it farther, turning my book-gifting into a physical space," Xu said. 

"All the readers have to do is to come. Even if they finish a book and decide not to pass it on, at least the book benefited (使受益) one person and perhaps their family, helping them fall in love with reading," Xu said. "And this is my dream. "

Last Saturday, after finishing my homework, my brother and I went to the park. The afternoon1 warmed the park as we played basketball with some friends. Nearby, my neighbor, Mrs. Lee, sat on the grass, looking very sad. Mum mentioned her2 was very serious. Sadly, she was so poor that she couldn't3 her new medicine. The thought made me feel bad. 

Later, walking home past the4 library, I noticed something. People often throw away empty bottles near the public library!5 , I came up with a good idea. What if we collected them? We could get some money by selling them!

Excited, I held my little brother, and we began to6 bottles near parks, sidewalks, and shops. It was surprising how many people threw away these bottles. Our garage was filled with bottles. 

After two weeks, we sold these bottles. Counting the money felt7 ! "For your medicine," I said, handing Mrs. Lee the cash. Tears her eyes. "You are kind children. . . Thank you!" she said. Walking home, the evening sunshine felt8 than ever.We hadn't only collected empty bottles,9 we'd collected hope. Helping Mrs. Lee felt brighter than the sunniest day.10 .
