Everyone has a favourite place in his or her school. 

Lily likes reading English books. She wants to make her English reading better. So her favourite place is the school library. They are good for her English reading.

People in different countries and places of the world have different kinds of things. Food is cooked and eaten in many different ways. People in different countries eat at different times of the day. Scientists say that none of the differences is really important. It doesn't matter whether food is raw or cooked, canned or frozen. It doesn't matter whether a person eats dinner at four o'clock in the afternoon or at eleven o'clock at night. The important thing is what you eat every day. 

There are two problems of feeding the large number of people on the Earth. The first is to find some ways to feed all the people so that no one is hungry. The second is to make sure that people everywhere have the right kinds of food to make them grow strong and healthy. 

This is a class at Tammela school, a school in Finland (芬兰). The students are having a maths class with their robot teacher. 

The "teacher" is blue. His name is Albert. When students need help with maths, he's always there to help them. 

"Albert can make maths classes interesting. Many students like Albert, and they think he is a great teacher, " says Mr Black, a science teacher in the school.

In the library, there are rows (排) of tables and chairs. It looks very clean. And it's easy for students to find books. We can sit there to read books or borrow books from it. We can take two to five books at a time (一次) and we must give back the books in a week. 

Our library teacher is a nice woman. She is friendly to all students. We all like her. She helps us find books. When we ask her some questions about books, she is happy to answer. 

I like reading books. Every day, I go to the library to read books. I love to visit my school library. It's a good place to read and study. 

Everyone has a birthday. It's my birthday soon. Usually, I celebrate it with my family at home in January. But this year it will be 1 . In my new class, more than 10 students' birthdays are also this month. It is amazing!

Today is Monday and it's 5:30 p. m. now. Alice and her brother Bob get home  school. "How is your school day, Alice?" Mom asks. 

"It's interesting, Mom, " Alice says. "In the morning, I  history and geography. They are my favorite . In the afternoon, I'm not busy because I only have P. E. We  tennis today. It's  for me because I can't play tennis. But my classmate Meimei  me with it, " Alice says. 

"You really have a good day! So how about your school day, Bob?" Mom asks.

We always have art, PE or music in the afternoon. For me, the classes in the afternoon are fun and relaxing. In the PE class, I like to play ping-pong with my PE teacher. In the music class, we sing songs together. 

I'm Steve, Our school has an art festival in June every year. Today is the art festival and our parents also come. After that, we go home with our parents, because tomorrow is Saturday. 

In the morning, we get up early. The teacher helps us make up (化妆), and we wear beautiful clothes. The show of our class is boys singing and girls dancing. At 9 a. m. , the show starts (开始). Our class is the third one and we try ourbest (尽最大的努力) to finish it. So we get the first prize (奖). We are very happy. 

In the afternoon, we play games with our parents. Children all wear the same clothes and shoes, and Mum and Dad need to find their kids in two minutes. Some children's parents can't find them. So they give us a small show. My parents find me, but my father also gives us a show—Chinese kungfu. Children all like the show. 

I am very busy today, but I am really happy. I like the art festival. 

In our Chinese school, all students have their favourite subjects. But students in different grades like different subjects. 

In Grade One and Two, students' favourite subject is always Chinese, because it's the mother tongue and it's easy for them. But most of them don't like English. They think English is very difficult. 

In Grade Five and Six, some students like math very much. But they aren't very good at math. Interesting? Some students think English is boring! And some students don't like science. 

In Grade Seven, English is some students' favourite subject. They say it's fun and easy for them. Some students like Chinese. They think it's useful in their daily life. 

In Grade Eight and Nine, some students like math best. They think math is really interesting. But some students say math is their least (最少地) favourite subject, because it's too difficult!

Now some Chinese students in middle schools have one labour (劳动) class a week. How do students like the new subject? Let's have a look. 

In our school, students learn to grow vegetables. We have a labour class on Friday. We grow carrots, potatoes and we grow strawberries too. We like the labour class very much. It is really relaxing.
