Taking notes is like collecting treasures for your brain. Imagine each piece of information as a shiny gem (宝石). To keep these gems safe and easy to find, you need a good treasure box, which in this case, is your notebook or computer. 

 Check if your pencil is ready to write, your notebook is open, and your computer has enough power. Think of it as getting your treasure box ready for a journey. 

Listening is like using a map.  Don't write down every single word; just the important ones, like big, shiny gems. Names, dates, and main ideas are like the biggest treasures. And if something is hard to understand, ask your teacher about it. 

Writing by hand is special. It helps you remember better, like carving (刻) the map into your mind. But if you prefer typing (打字), that's okay too. 

After class, look at your treasures again. This helps you remember them better. Add more details if you remember something new.  Maybe use different colors for different types of information. It's like decorating (装饰) your treasure box so you want to open it again and again.

Do you know that half of the kids aged 6 to 13 are home alone for part of the day in America? The boys in the movie Home Alone certainly have fun, but the whole experience can be scary sometimes. 

These days, even a lot of grown-ups are afraid of being alone in the house! It's understandable if you are nervous about being home alone. 

For over five years, Jessie and her little brother Joey have been taking care of themselves until their mother comes home from work. Jessie says that the worst thing about it is when both of them get locked out. Then they have to wait until their parents get home! Luckily, they each have a cell phone so that they can call their mother. 

Your parents think you're ready, but do you think so?

At first, it sounds cool to be home alone. Think of the freedom (自由) you will have around the house! There's nobody to stop you from playing computer games, watching your favourite TV show or listening to the CD that your parents hate. 

Then what's that? You hear a noise outside. It sounds like there is a person behind the door. Suddenly, you don't feel so safe anymore. 

This is a common feeling and it doesn't mean you're a "baby". You might feel fine about being alone when you're 

10. But two years later, something happens and that makes you feel different about it. Every person and every home environment is different. 

If you are really frightened while being home alone, it's really important to speak up. 

Have you ever imagined yourself as the main role of a hero story? It might more than just excite your imagination. 

The hero's journey, which was first made popular by Joseph Campbell in his 1949 book The Hero with a Thousand Faces, is a common theme (主题) in stories. Heroes like Mulan and Harry Potter, start life-changing journeys, face great dangers, and come back changed for the better. 

Research suggests that seeing life through the lens (滤镜) of a hero's journey can help you cut down stress (压力) and feel more sure about yourself, which in turn lead to greater life satisfaction. Benjamin A. Rogers, one of the researchers, explains, "The way people tell their life stories shapes how meaningful their lives feel". Rogers believes that thinking of your favorite hero's story gives you a full view of what might be next for you, or what you should be paying attention to. It makes you believe that a new journey almost certainly awaits (降临于) you. 

How can you start imagining your life as a hero's journey? First, reconsider who you are. Ask yourself, what makes you you? Who's your favorite role in a movie or book? In what way can you relate to him/her? Writing down the answers can help you see yourself through a more heroic lens. Next, change the way you see difficulties. Going through a hard time? Think of them as chances for growth and learning. A difficulty is a chance to be the hero of your own story. Then, go on your own heroic trips. It's about finding out something new to do, like walking a new way to school or borrowing a bike and riding it to school. 

Every hero starts with one step. What's your next move? Start today and let your own story begins. 

Life is full of surprises and unexpected turns just like a roller coaster. What is the best we can do to 1 unexpected events?

My name is Jim Green. I am a British school boy. I love my school and I study hard. On weekdays, I leave home at 6:45 and walk 20 minutes to catch a bus to school. The bus is a special one, just for students going to my school. The bus trip takes an hour because it stops to pick up other students on the way. 

When I get to school, I take my iPad from the Student Centre. Then I go to the school hall for registration (报到) at 8:30. We listen to the form teacher at the school meeting there. At about 8:50, we leave the hall and have our first lesson. Every day I have a different subject for the first lesson, but it is always Humanities. I also have lessons like Maths, Biology and PE for the rest of the day. 

All my lessons are in different rooms and places around the school. Each room has a number or a name. The numbers are very hard to remember! I have a locker (柜子) and I can put some of my things in it, so I don't have to carry them in my bag. 

Every student carries a swipe card (磁卡) at school. We swipe into the school buildings for every lesson. We can put money on our swipe cards and we don't need to carry any paper money. If we want to pay for food and drinks, we just need to use our cards. 

Every student wants to have a good school day. How can we do that? I think my school life can give you some help. 

Every day I get up early. After that I make my bed. Then I brush my teeth and wash my face. It's important to wear right clothes. If I have PE class that day, I'll wear my sports clothes and shoes. Before I go to school, I usually eat a healthy breakfast at home. My favorite food is bread and milk. 

At school, I listen to my teacher carefully (认真地). I'll ask questions if don't understand. I also like to be with friends. I make many friends at school. I always talk with them or play sports with them after class.
