Some parents are used to doing almost everything for their children. They see their children as babies all the time! It can be a very common problem in China, because most parents only have one child in China. Some parents care so much about the safety of their children that they are afraid to let them go anywhere or do anything by themselves. So their children fail to learn the social skills and become more dependent on them!

However, the gaming companies might not be able to control their young customers. Some children have been reported to use their older family members' identities or even pay to use adult strangers' identities to extend their gaming time. This emphasizes the need for both stricter supervision and education to help children understand the importance of controlled gaming time.

Born as the only child of my parents, I am the "king" in the family. My parents are both businessmen and they come home every two weeks. Because they don't spend much time with me, they always feel guilty and will buy me many expensive things and let me do whatever I want. My grandparents never let me do any chores because they want me to do my schoolwork.

I noticed that all the popular kids in the class are friendly to others. They always smile and say "thank you" to others. They do whatever they can to help when others are in trouble, other kids like them and always play with them. "I need to change! I will get my friends back." I said to myself. From then on, I started to change myself. I learned to say "thank you" to others. I smiled and helped others as much as I could. Gradually, I found that other kids liked to talk with me and they would ask me to play with them. My friends came back to me again.

Now I have more friends and I am happier than I used to be.

The year 2024 is an important year for Chinese doctor Wang Zhenyi. He turned 100 this year and got the Medal of the Republic (共和国勋章) for his hard work and achievements. Wang spent decades studying leukemia (白血病) and helping patients who live with it.

Wang was born in Shanghai in 1924. He decided to be a doctor at age 7 when his grandmother died of an illness. "The underdeveloped medicine could not free her from disease, and that was when I decided to be a doctor to help other people," said Wang.

In 1942, Wang went to university to study medicine. He left the university in 1948 and then began working at a hospital. Wang set himself a big goal of curing (治愈) leukemia. The goal was difficult. For doctors, leukemia is one of the most difficult diseases to cure.

Wang went through many difficult times when he tried to achieve his goal. In the middle of the last century, he saw about 60 patients dying of leukemia in one year. He said it hurt him most to see patients suffering from the disease when there was nothing he could do.

However, this did not stop Wang. He tried harder. Each day, after finishing his work, Wang spent almost all his free time doing studies. After years of hard work and tries, he made great progress. Over the years, Wang has helped tens of thousands of patients.

Wang's work has also brought him a lot of honors. But he is not interested in money and fame. What he cares about is helping patients. "I have achieved only one thing in my life—being responsible for my patients," said Wang.

Peng Shilu was born in a family of heroes in Haifeng, Guangdong in 1925. When he was less than five years old, his parents died. The young boy was taken care of and protected by the , and he moved between different families and lived a difficult life. The people's  influenced him deeply at his early age.

In 1940, Peng Shilu was taken to Chongqing. Later, with the help of the CPC (中国共产党), he went to study in Yan'an. In 1951, he went abroad to learn  engineering. When he completed his , he got an excellent grade.

With the strong belief (信仰), Peng Shilu began to study nuclear power (核动力) at once.

In the early 1960s, China's  of nuclear submarines (核潜艇) was almost a "zero". Peng Shilu and other scientists were learning, exploring and practicing. In 1970, China's first nuclear submarine was built. In 1974, China became the fifth country in the world to have a nuclear submarine.

Peng Shilu worked very hard. He spent all his life on nuclear power. "I have only done  things in my life. One is  nuclear submarines and the other is to build nuclear power stations," said Peng Shilu.

He died on March 22, 2021, at the age of 96. As a  in nuclear power, he is remembered by the people and the country. On March 3, 2022, he was named "Touching China's Figure of the Year 2021".
