Hobbies make our lives interesting. My life becomes interesting because of artistic swimming（花样游泳）. It is a very beautiful and 1 sport. It puts swimming, dance and music together. Do you know that it has another 2 "water ballet（芭蕾）"? Our school has an artistic swimming team（队）. And it has 123 and I am one of them We are all Grade 7 students.

Juice tastes nice when you get tired in a park. But juice boxes do not look nice there. They are bad for the environment（环境）. If you play in the park next time, do not leave litter in nature. 

Put all of your litter in it. If you see others litter, pick it up. 

Say no to graffiti（涂鸦）

As art, graffiti looks nice. But graffiti is not a good way to have fun in nature. 

Nature is for all of us to enjoy. Don't do anything to destroy（破坏）it. Leave it as it is. 

Just look with your eyes

It is nice to see animal friends in nature. 

So do not touch（触摸）them. And don't feed them. It may not be good for them. Because they may have difficulty feeding themselves in the wild. 

You are not the only one in nature, so please be nice to other visitors. If you listen to music, use the earphone（耳机）. If your pet is also there, keep it near you all the time. 

Do you feel you are busy after you enter（进入）middle school? You have more subjects to learn and less time for sleep. But you may find some classmates adapt（适应）quickly to their new school life.

So how can a timetable help students? First of all, it can help them improve their health. Some students have no time for a good breakfast or doing exercise. Also, it's difficult for them to get up early because they don't go to bed early. But we all know these are important parts of a healthy life. With a timetable, these students can do them well even when they are busy with their schoolwork. Second, a timetable can help them do more things in one day. It plans time for different things, so they know what to do at different times. Then they can make good use of their time and finish more things. Li Wei is a good example for this. 

Some students find it difficult to keep a timetable. But when you do the same activities every day, they become your habits（习惯）at last. Why not have a try to make a timetable for yourself?

In Jayda's family, there is a special tradition（传统）—Grandmother needs to make a piece of clothing（衣服）as her grandchildren's twelfth birthday gift. And the clothing must be in the child's favorite colour.

Yogurt is a kind of healthy food that people can make at home. One way to make it is to buy some dry yogurt from a store. Add two small spoonfuls of the yogurt to two cups of milk. This will be the starter（准备材料）for your own yogurt. A cup in the United States is two hundred and forty milliliters（毫升）. 

When making yogurt, it is very important to have clean equipment, clean hands and a right temperature. Pour eight cups of milk into a large cooking pot. Heat（加热）the milk to 85℃. Then cool the milk quickly to 43℃. To do this, you can put the cooking pot in cool water. Keep the yogurt at 43℃ and add one-half cup of the starter. If you want a thicker yogurt, you can also add one-third of a cup of dry milk. Cover the pot and keep it at a temperature of 40℃ to 45℃ for four to six hours. After that, your home-made yogurt is ready. You can also add fruit, nuts, honey or spices（香料）.

Now I will show you the latest time-saving invention: a dog-washing machine. Dog owners can buy one for their dogs. They can save time by putting their dogs in the machine and then 33 minutes later, a clean and fresh-smelling dog comes out. 
     The machine becomes more and more popular. The sales of the dog-washing machine are increasing. The machine saves a lot of money for dog owners. However, it's bad news for animal hospitals because they are losing many customers.
The dog-washing machine has many advantages. First, the whole cleaning process includes a shampoo（洗发）, rinse（冲洗） and blow-dry. Second, tests showed that dogs enjoyed the washing process and were very happy when the blow-dryer started working. Third, the most important is that the makers of the machine say it's very safe and does not harm dogs.
       One dog owner, Lucy, loves her new machine. She said her dog was happy, too. Lucy explained to the reporters, "Before I bought the dog-washing machine, I only took my dog to the animal hospital a few times a year. Now I wash her every week and she looks great. I also save lots of money."

It's unusual that you can feel the warmth in a train station. After all, it's the place where people walk quickly to catch their trains. However, just there,  a cold Friday morning, I saw something that moved me to tears when I was on business in （German）.

While I was walking to the hall of the station, I saw a station （work） put something next to a sleeping homeless man. She put it down （silent） and left in a hurry. I wondered  she had put some money there. Instead, it was a sandwich （lie） on the man's bag. All of  sudden, I realized that a sandwich was probably what the man needed most.

How do you feel when you are fooled by others? No doubt, feel bad. There is nothing worse than falling for a joke and being a fool except one day. Yes, that's April Fool's Day. Nobody will be angry to be an "April Fool". 

The headmaster at my school decided to play an April Fool's joke on the students when I was in junior high school. On March 31st, she said that our school would hold a "Dress to Impress Day".  Girls were told to wear formal dresses, while a suit and tie for each boy would be the best. The teachers, we were told, would do the same.

On April Fool's Day, many of us students came to school dressed in our best clothes. Our hair was tidy and all our shoes were well cleaned. In the morning, all of us got together on the playground, waiting for the headmaster. She would speak to the students.  Instead, she wore jeans, running shoes and a T-shirt. The other teachers also got dressed casually（着装休闲地） like her.

"April Fools!" she said with a big smile on her face. "We just want to remind you that teachers have a sense of humor, too!" 

Surely, all the teachers weren't April Fools.

On October 1st, the first day of China's National Day holiday, a wonderful new movie called A Tapestry of a Legendary Land（《只此青绿》） was shown in the cinemas. This film is a special mix of dance and movie magic!

The story is based on a famous dance poem drama（舞蹈诗剧）. It tells us about Wang Ximeng, a painter from the Northern Song Dynasty. He was a talent and loved mountains and rivers. When he was only 18, he tried to finish the famous A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains（《千里江山图》）. But after that, he disappeared, leaving little historical record.

The movie brings Wang Ximeng's short life to audience（观众）, showing him as a young and smart person. We can learn about his story through the eyes of a modern exhibitor（展卷人）. And there is a special character called "Green" in this film. Green represents（代表） the mountains and rivers in the painting. Green also connects the past and the present.

To get closer to the roles in this film, the filmmakers and actors all did lots of preparation. Zhang Han, the actor who plays Ximeng, coped the painting to understand how Ximeng felt when he was creating. While acting, he gave his all to the role, just as Ximeng did with his painting.

The dance poem drama first started in Beijing in 2021 and was performed almost 600 times. It is more and more popular in China even around the world. Director Han Zhen thinks that this movie will also be a big success when it is shown internationally. Chinese culture is ready to shine on the world stage. 

Most scientists agree the Great Sphinx of Giza（吉萨狮身人面像） was built around 2,500 B.C. But John Anthony West says that it's much older. If he's right, everything anybody has learned about ancient civilizations（文明） would have to be completely changed.

West, a writer and film-maker, first got interested in ancient history after studying the work of a French researcher. The researcher said Egyptian civilization could have developed as early as 30,000 years ago, rather than 7,500 years ago, as most historians believe.

West joined a scientist to do research together. Their research suggested that the Sphinx had been worn down（磨损） over the years by water, rather than by sand and wind.

Wait a minute? Water? How could that be? The Sphinx is in the Sahara Desert, which has been dry for 12,000 years! However, before that time, it was very green. If it's true that water wore down the Sphinx, West thinks that it must have been built centuries earlier.

Whether West is right or wrong, it's important to challenge accepted ideas. That's how science progresses.

West gave some advice for kids: If you are interested in a topic, read everything you can on it. Do your own research. Don't always believe everything your teachers tell you. Ask lots of questions, and find your own answers.
