2、 阅读理解
Saturn (土星) is famous for the beautiful rings around it. Now, it's getting attention for being even more amazing. Scientists have discovered 128 new moons around Saturn, bringing the planet's total to 274. A moon is any naturally formed object that moves around a planet. Moons come in different shapes and sizes.
Most of Saturn's new moons are small objects, just one or two miles wide—quite different to Earth's Moon, which is a 2,159-mile-wide ball. These space rocks are in unusual orbits (轨道) too. They go around Saturn in the opposite direction to its own movement. At between 6.5 million and 18 million miles away from the ringed planet, the newly discovered moons are also further away than Saturn's biggest moon, Titan.
Why does Saturn have so many moons while Earth only has one? According to scientists, several billion years ago, the giant planet's gravity attracted some rocks and ice. Over time, some of them crashed against each other, breaking into smaller pieces or coming together to create many small moons.
The new moons were first discovered in 2023 by a team of scientists led by Edward Ashton, and were recently confirmed by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). Saturn now is the planet with the most moons—Jupiter is not far behind with 95. However, Dr Ashton believes this might be the limit for moon discovery. "I don't think Jupiter will ever catch up," he said. "With present technology, I don't think we can do better than what has already been done," he added.

C、The orbit of the planet. D、The crashes of the rocks and ice.(3)、What can we learn from Dr Ashton's words in the last paragraph?A、Jupiter will soon catch up with Saturn. Leo loved the park. But today he felt the park was different. He wondered the woods behind the lake hid any real secrets. With curiosity and a notebook, he walked into the woods.
Some sunshine shone through the leaves. Leo saw a bird was standing in the tree. Leo wondered the bird was happy. Later, he found there were some strange flowers near a big tree. He wondered they were dangerous or not. Then, something caught his eye: a tiny, green case was in a low tree. Oh, Leo thought it was a butterfly chrysalis (蛹 )!
Leo softly touched the tree around him. He remembered nature often hides its greatest parts in places where people don't often go. He waited quietly and wanted to know he was lucky enough to see the butterfly come out! The magic was in the waiting, in discovering patience itself was the forest's quiet gift. He left happily, carrying the secret of the hidden chrysalis.

The Great Barrier Reef (大堡礁) is an amazing natural wonder in the ocean. It lies in the Coral Sea near Australia and is really huge.It is over 2,300 kilometers long and it is the largest coral (珊瑚) reef system on Earth. There are thousands of different kinds of corals. They are in different shapes, like branches (树枝), fans and mushrooms.Lots of fish live here, too. They are of all sizes and colours, swimming freely among the corals. You can also see sea turtles, dolphins and even whales sometimes. The Great Barrier Reef is like a huge underwater garden. It's made up of lots of corals and many sea animals.
But sadly, the Great Barrier Reef is in trouble. It is not as beautiful as it used to be.Because of the climate change, the sea water is getting warmer. This makes the corals turn white and sick. Some parts of the reef look empty now.The fish and other sea animals that live in the reef are losing their homes.People also cause serious problems, too.Chemicals from farms and waste thrown into the sea make the water dirty.Too much fishing makes the number of fish go down.If we don't do something to protect it, we will lose this amazing place. We should try our best to keep the sea clean, so the Great Barrier Reef can stay beautiful and full of life.
(1)、Where does the Great Barrier Reef lie?(2)、How long is the Great Barrier Reef?(3)、What is the Great Barrier Reef like?(4)、Why is the sea water getting warmer?(5)、What makes the number of fish go down? -
