A good living environment is important for everyone. It includes clean air, safe streets, and comfortable homes. But what makes a place truly special is not just the buildings or parks—it's the people and how they care for each other. People work hard to keep their living environment clean and beautiful. They sweep the floors, take out the trash, and plant flowers in their neighbourhoods. The clean living environment makes people feel happy and healthy. 

In a friendly neighbourhood, people know their neighbours. They say hello, share food, and help when someone is in need. For example, if an old person has trouble carrying things, a younger neighbour might offer to help. If a family is new to the area, others might welcome them with smiles and small gifts. These kind actions make a warm and happy atmosphere (氛围). 

Communities also work together to settle problems. They might clean the park, plant trees, or organize events like festivals or sports games. By doing these things, people build trust and friendship. They learn that helping others makes their own lives better, too. 

A loving community is like a big family. When people respect and help each other, everyone feels safe and happy. No matter where we live—in a big city or a small village—kindness can make our environment a better place. So a beautiful home is not just about the house we live in, but also about the love and help we share with those around us.

A woman made some bread for her family and an extra (额外的) one, placing on the windowsill, for a hungry passer-by every day.

Every day, a hunchback (驼背的人) came and took away the bread. Instead of saying thanks, he only said again and again as he went away, "The bad thing you do stays with you. The good you do comes back to you!" This went on, day after day.

One day, the woman became annoyed. "Not a word of thanks," she said to herself. She decided to kill him. She added poison (毒药) to the bread she prepared for him. As she was about to place it on the windowsill, she threw the bread into the fire and prepared another one. As usual, the hunchback came, picked up the bread and said the same words.

As the mother heard those words, her face turned pale and red. She remembered the poisoned bread that she had made that morning. If she had not burnt it in the fire, it would have been eaten by her own son and he would have lost his life.

It was then that she realized the importance of the words: "The bad thing you do stays with you. The good you do comes back to you!" Do good and don't ever stop doing good, even if it is not thanked at that time.
