Many people are tired of going to busy tourist places during their holidays. So， they are trying something new： mushroom(蘑菇) picking. It is a new and exciting way to take a break from their busy lives and enjoy nature.

To meet tourists' needs， Youyunnan， an app for visitors to Yunnan Province， has two mushroom-picking activities for visitors.

One guides visitors to pick mushrooms. In the other， tourists can enjoy picking local tea， eating local mushrooms and visiting a wild mushroom market as well as picking mushrooms.

A 35—year-old teacher surnamed(姓) Li took a day trip from Guangxi to Kunming. "My child loves mushrooms and we bought many books about them. That's why we visited Kunming to help my child see the wonders of nature，" Li said. They greatly enjoyed the activities and learnt a lot， from how to pick mushrooms to how to tell if a mushroom is safe to eat.

A new way of travelling is getting popular in China these days. It's called "special forces-style tourism(特种兵式旅游)". It means people travel to many places in a short time， usually at weekends. Most of these travellers are university students.

Zhang Yinghua is one of them. The 21—year-old young man started his "special forces-style tourism" in March. Zhang said， "We couldn't travel around before. But it's different now. We can go out to take trips and have fun." Zhang's last trip was to Beijing. During the two days， he visited a lot of places， like the Palace Museum and the Summer Palace. "Thanks to the trip， I can know Beijing better. I had a lot of fun，" he said.

Chen Xiaowen， a student at China Three Gorges University， likes to relax by travelling. In April， she took a one-day trip to Wuhan. After getting off the train at 7：00 am， she went to 9 places of interest in Wuhan. That day， she walked about 40，000 steps.

"The trip was a little tiring， but I enjoyed it. This kind of tourism is not good for everyone. Travellers need enough energy because they have to visit as many places of interest as they can in a short time，" Chen said.

Phil Lecomte travelled to a small town at the foot of China's Mount Huangshan with his camera and backpack. After walking about 10 kilometres by the mountain， and just as he wanted to give up， the Frenchman saw a beautiful village-Tunxi District. He was attracted by the beautiful nature there.

Lecomte lived in Tunxi District for three months. Tunxi District is famous for its Huizhou culture street that has a history of hundreds of years. "I didn't want to leave here any more，" Lecomte said. His trip to China turned into a long stay.

He often hikes or rides a motorcycle with his friends， away from the busy cities， to find hidden scenery(隐秘的风景) around Mount Huangshan. They come to the fields by rivers， ancient villages， and forests again and again.

Lecomte likes taking photos wherever he goes. So far he has taken more than 118，000 photos in China. Now， he shares these photos on Chinese social media. One of his favourite photos shows a little girl building a snowman in an ancient street. "The girl was me when I was little！" a young woman said excitedly after the photo was posted.

If you travel by plane in Thailand， you might see some artistic pictures showing lovely cartoon cats from the air. The photo on the right is one of them. It was taken in December of 2023. In the photo you can see a cute sleeping cat with a fish.

You must wonder how the pictures came into being. Well， rice farmer Tanyapong Jaikham created(创造) them with the help of a team of workers. It was not easy. Tanyapong said，"To make the art， we used a great number of different kinds of seedlings(幼苗) with leaves of different colours. Then we planted them in the right places using GPS coordinates(坐标). Over time， the seedlings grew and the pictures appeared."

Tanyapong hopes that the art can help attract(吸引) more tourists and cat lovers to visit the place. "We are expecting tens of thousands to come and see the art in the rice fields，" said Tanyapong.

The artistic pictures not only celebrate the beauty of nature， but also show a Thai saying， "There are fish in the water and rice in the fields."

Jiang Xia is a student at a university(大学) in Shanghai. This January， the young man travelled from Shanghai to Mohe， the northernmost(最北的) city in China. However， Jiang got there by bus， not by plane or train.

"For me， travelling is a great way to get to know places and enjoy myself，" Jiang said. "And I spent a long time preparing for a test before the trip. So I really needed a relaxing trip."

Jiang took a few warm clothes and a few books with him on the trip. He had about 8，000 yuan. He got the money by working part-time， and some of it came from his scholarships(奖学金).

Jiang's special journey was 3，865 kilometres long. And it took him 15 days to reach(到达) Mohe.

"I had a lot of fun. I saw great sights， learnt a lot and made a few friends. Those were all wonderful experiences. The trip cost me about 5，000 yuan， and I spent about 1，500 yuan on transport(交通工具)，" Jiang said.
