Redwood trees are sometimes called "nature's skyscrapers (摩天大厦)" because they are also the  (tall) trees in the world. Some even grow over 300 feet high. Think of it this way: if a six-foot tall man  (stand) under a redwood tree,  tree will be 50 times taller than the man! These tall trees grow near the coast of California and Oregon. 

The climate gets  (fog) and it rains a lot there. It can  [prə'vaɪd] the redwoods with water. Redwood trees can grow for hundreds of years.  fact, some live for over 2,000 years! 

Redwood trees are such wonderful trees. Their wonder is not only just for their unusual size  for their special shape. They are packed with a soft bark. The bark (树皮) is very  [θɪk] and prevents the trees from insects, diseases and fires. The bark of redwood trees is a reddish-brown color. 

Redwood trees are very important to us because the trees are so large that each one can be cut into lots of wood.  [haʊ'evɔ], the Redwood National Park passed the laws that people should protect them  (careful). People mustn't cut down trees that grow there.
