I'm Hadiya, and I'm from Tanzania( 坦桑 尼亚 ). About 10 years ago, when I was

university student in China, I met my true love Dilxat who is from Xinjiang.

After (finish) our studies, I went back to Tanzania for my medical training, and Dilxat returned to his hometown in Kashgar( 喀 什 ). During the year we (separate) by the faraway distance, people wanted me to choose other people, but I turned them down. My heart was set on Dilxat. I realized that I wanted to marry him in China.

At first, my family worried about (I) marrying someone so far away.But when I explained how (deep) China and Tanzania are connected, from places like the Gymnasium(体育馆) in my hometown the Tanzania-Zambia Friendship Railway, all built with China's help, they understood. With their support,Dilxat and I got married in 

2020.

I moved to Dilat's hometown. After our (one) son was born, we opened a cafe near the ancient city. In our cafe, we sell African coffee beans, Xinjiang tea,juices, and desserts.

Thanks to Dilxat's social media skills, news about our unique(独特的) drinks and cross-cultural love story spread (quickly) than before.

Our small cafe makes a good income(收入), especially during holidays like National Day when lots of tourists visit.it can be tiring, running the business together makes us satisfied. As more Chinese people get to know Xinjiang, I'm excited to share our (cultural), our coffee, and our love.

Everyone has their own dream. Some of the dreams are big and some of them are small. If you have a dream that seems impossible and is so big that you worry if it will come true, these steps will provide you with some help.

Although it may seem impossible at the beginning you must believe that you can achieve it. It's not about setting impossible goals, but about dreaming big, planning simply and starting quickly. This is how you learn to make your dreams come true.

Tell others. One of the reasons why dreams remain dreams is that the person who has them is too afraid to share their wishes.Then they may be able to help, advise or just encourage you. With their help and encouragement, you will be more confident and it will become easier for you to make your dreams come true.

Work hard and wisely. When a lot of people question why their dreams can't come true, they are watching television, playing with their phones or lying in bed without doing anything.  Therefore, you should work hard towards your dream and never give up. The small achievements that you achieve in your life will end up making a great dream come true.

Enjoy the process(过程) every day. How to make your dreams come true is a process that you should enjoy every day. 

During the National Day holiday, the sky above Shenzhen was lit up by impressive drone(无人机) light shows. This" cyber fireworks" lit up the night, painting a lively picture of Shenzhen as a" City of Miracles, City of Innovation. City of Future". A total of 10197DAMODA drones took off to the sky at the same time, setting two Guinness World Records.So how does the drone light show work?

Before a drone light show begins, drones are usually put on the ground one by one and it would take a lot of time to prepare a show with more than ten thousand drones. To shorten the time, the DAMODA drone company thought of a solution. The company put groups of drones into big boxes with specific QR codes on it. By putting the boxes into correct places,thousands of drones can be ready in a short time and they can go back to their" homes" by scanning the OR codes.

In drone shows, each drone is programmed by a computer to follow its own flight direction, carefully avoiding the other drones. They communicate with neighbouring drones and use sensors(传感器) to keep a certain distance. The position and LED colours change throughout the performance to show different objects in the night sky.

Drone light shows are thought to be more environmentally friendly —— and certainly cause less noise and light pollution— than fireworks shows, so lots of big events are turning to them instead of fireworks. Drones can also be reused again and again so they will probably be more popular in the future.

I must have been about fourteen then, and I put away the incident from my mind with the easy carelessness of youth. But the words Carl Walter spoke that day, came back to me years later, and have been of great value to me ever since.

Carl Walter was my piano teacher. During one of my lessons, he asked me, "Do you practise in stretches, an hour at a time?""I try to." I replied. "Well, don' t," he exclaimed,(惊呼)"When you grow up, time won't come in long periods of time. Practise in minutes,whenever you can find them five or ten before school after lunch, between household tasks.Spread the practice through the day, and piano-playing will become a part of your life."

When I was teaching at Columbia University, I wanted to write, but class periods, reading,and meetings filled my days and evenings. For two years I got nothing down on paper, and my excuse was that I had no time. Then I remembered what Carl Walter had said. During the next week I did an experiment.

Whenever I had five minutes available, I sat down and wrote a hundred words or so. To my surprise, at the end of the week I had written down quite a lot, later on I wrote novels by the same piecemeal(零碎的) method.

Though my teaching schedule had become heavier than ever, in every day there were short periods of time which could be caught and put to use. I even took up piano-playing again,finding those short periods of time of the day provided enough time for both writing and piano practice,

You must get prepared and highly focus on your task when the time comes. Carl Walter has had a great influence on my life. Because of him, I discover that even very short periods of time add up to all useful hours I need, if I get started right away.

"It's a waste of time," I said when my mom told me that I had to volunteer at Madcaps,a homeless shelter(收容所). I thought that things could not get worse.

We got there late and walked to the dirty homeless shelter, where we saw a lady shouting at the security guard(保安). He dealt with her and then led us to the kitchen.

Then homeless people started to walk in and a little girl, 5 years old, walked up and pointed to the food I was handing out. I handed her a cold sandwich and she nodded to say thanks. She then walked over to her parents, who were seated at a large table.

As she walked away, I thought about how much I had. I go to one of the top schools in San Diego;I have a great house by the water, and I have a warm meal every night. Then I thought of how little she had. She probably didn't go to school, and this is where she sieeps and eats every day. That little girl made me realize how lucky I am.

After that moment, I had a change in my heart. Now,I love Madcaps and don't miss one meeting. I have made many friends and I often hang out with them. I believe that if you have an open mind about things, you can learn a lot about yourself and the people in your community. You can make new friends and realize just how lucky you are. I believe you can make a difference just by giving others a hand.

Deliveryman(快递员) Ryan Arens was making his rounds in his truck near a pond in Bozeman, when he heard a strange sound. "It was like a cry for1 ," he said, "but I couldn't2 what was going on."

Arens got out of his truck, and then he saw the source of that cry - - a dog in the pond,trying to hold onto a thin layer of ice. One old man had entered the pond in a boat and was trying to move closer to the dog, but it was3 going and Arens thought he had a better chance.

He opened the door to his car, and Sadie jumped out. She ran straight towards Arens,jumping up onto him and bathing him in wet kisses.

It's easier to say something than to do it,

At the beginning of a new year people always like to make a New Year's resolution(决心) by themselves. They also love to make promises to others. It is true that resolutions and promises are good for peoples' lives. They can help people to be better and better in the future.

However, the truth is different. To improve ourselves, we often make up our mind to do something. Have you ever said to yourself, "My New Years" resolution is to play the piano well and I will play it an hour a day? Have you ever promised to your father, "Dad, I will give up playing computer games on weekdays?"Have you ever told your teacher,"Mr. Zhang, I plan to study hard at English?" Have you ever talked with your friends, "We must practise running from now on?" I'm afraid most of us have had such kind of experiences. However, we find it difficult to put our resolutions or promises into action. Therefore, at the end of the year, we often realize we don't achieved our goals at all. Resolutions are just the words which were once written on the paper and promises are just the words which were once talked about in the mouth.

People hardly ever keep resolutions or promises. Some people say that they are too busy to do that. Others say they just forget about that. In fact, it's easier to say something than to do it. A promise is made by words, but it is kept by actions. Action speaks louder than words.

As for me, I take pride in myself. I always remind (提醒) myself to pay attention to the moment I'm going through because that's the only way to achieve goals. So no matter what, no matter when, all I need to do is just to keep my eyes on the thing I'm doing now and make it better.

In China the twelfth month of the lunar calendar (阴历) is called Layue. The month is  of interesting festivals and customs.

Laba Festival, which falls on the  day of Layue, is the first festival in this month. From this day on, people  to get ready for the Chinese New Year.

On Laba Festival, people often eat hot Laba porridge. There are  eight things in the porridge: rice, red beans, peas, dried lotus seeds (莲子), dates (红枣), and three different  of fruits and nuts. The porridge is not just good for your health, but best wishes for the coming of the Chinese New Year.

Laba porridge is not the only tasty food in Layue. Laba garlic (蒜) is  in the north. People begin to soak (浸泡) garlic in vinegar (醋) from that day on, and have it with dumplings during the Chinese New Year.  in the south, people like making sausages.

 major celebration before the Spring Festival is Xiaonian. It is usually on the twenty-third day of the last lunar month. Traditionally, it is an important day when people  sacrifices to the Kitchen God who looks after the family.

Don't forget to clean your home. This is also an important thing to do to prepare for the Chinese New Year. It  sweeping away the dust of the old year and welcoming a fresh start. Now, the last thing for you to do is to wait for the coming Spring Festival.

Issac Newton was a quiet boy. Having lost his father before he was born, he grew up with his grandparents. At 17, soon after he finished schooling, his mother decided that he would be trained to take care of their family farm. But instead of watching sheep, young Newton would spend his time making small tools. His head teacher saw the genius in him and asked his mother to send him to the university. Newton set out for Cambridge in June, 1661, and began his career in scientific research.

Newton was always trying to understand and explain a lot of things in nature. To test a question about colors, he would stare at(凝视) the sun with one eye until all the colors changed. As a result, he had to stay in the dark for several days before his eye returned to normal. Newton was the first to show us that white light is made up of colors mixed together. He was also the first person to understand the rainbow and explain how it forms.

A story goes like this: One day, an apple fell on Newton's head, and it was then that Newton realized that the apple fell towards the Earth and didn't go anywhere else. He thought to himself, "How did this happen?" After doing some experiments, he later knew all objects(物体)always fall towards the Earth's center because the Earth attracts them. He realized that every object in the universe attracts every other object towards it. Then Newton discovered the law of universal gravitation.

Newton was an English physicist, mathematician and astronomer. Because of the significant work Newton has done, he is widely considered as one of the greatest scientists of all time.

In Xi'an, there are special sidewalks for the phubbers (低头族). Different students have different opinions on it.  

Florence Nightingale was a nurse who saved many lives in the 19th century. She was named after the city of Florence in Italy. Her family was 1 and they had two houses in Britain as well as many servants. 

Florence was an 2 young woman during her time. She was different from other women. Wealthy women like Florence weren't expected to work—their job was to marry and 3 the family. But Florence wanted to be a nurse and help people. Her family didn't allow her to do that 4 they thought hospitals were dirty places. They 5 her health. In 1851, Florence went to Germany and learned about nursing. It was hard work, but she loved it. 

In 1854, lots of British soldiers fought in the Crimean War. Army hospitals were filled with injured soldiers, but there were 6 nurses. For this reason, many soldiers 7 . Florence and a team of nurses volunteered to help them. 

Florence worked 20 hours a day to take care of the injured soldiers and clean the army hospital. At night, Florence walked around the hospital. She talked to the injured soldiers and helped them 8 to write letters to their families. She always carried a 9 and the soldiers called her "The Lady with the Lamp". 

When Florence returned to England, people called her a heroine（女英雄）because of her amazing work in the Crimean War. She 10 to work hard in Britain to improve hospitals.

I joined a band as a drummer (鼓手) in my middle school. I thought it would be fun playing 1 drum and meeting new friends. At first it was easy, but a few months later, it got even 2 . I was the only one who couldn't catch up with the other players.

Our teacher, Angie, chose me out to practise 3 everyone else got to relax. I felt ashamed (羞愧的) as my teammates were always watching me. Finally I got very 4 of practicing, and I didn't care about doing it right.

From the experience, I learned that we each had our own job to do in a show, but imagine 10 great the show would be if all of us work together!
