The jaw harp, or kouxian in Chinese, is one of the world's oldest musical instruments（乐器）. It is believed that the jaw harps were introduced to eastern Europe near the end of the  (thirteen) century. This instrument  (make) of either metal or bamboo. Each one is 8 to 9  (centimetre) long and 1 centimetre wide. It can produce amazing sounds of nature like birds singing and water running  the instrument is small and simple. Kouxian is now  (wide) played by musicians across the world.  larger number of young people are using this instrument to play pop music today.

Ma Guoguo is an ethnic Yi（彝族）woman. Her grandmother was a skilled kouxian player and she learned the skill  her grandma. Ma's kouxian style is faster and  (loud) than traditional performances, producing more powerful echoes（回声）. Ma received a prize in an international jaw harp competition in Russia. She often offers online kouxian lessons  (teach) worldwide learners this traditional instrument. So far, the Chinese National Museum of Ethnology (CNME)  (organize) several activities to show the culture of kouxian worldwide.

Homies, a street dance team from Chengdu, got third place at the VIBE Dance Competition with their performance, "Sword and Qi in Sichuan". It was the first time for a Chinese team to win a prize in this competition's 30-year history.

Mixing modern dances with tradition, young Chinese street dancers are attracting worldwide audiences with their deep love and understanding of traditional culture. As an example, the "Sword and Qi in Sichuan" got inspirationfrom a Kung Fu video game and a book that Fang loved when he was young.

Following the competition, Homies quickly got attention from the media, making their dance well known to the whole world.

"Young Chinese dancers are confident and creative. They mix traditional Chinese culture with modern street dance to show their love for our culture. This amazing mix is helping Chinese culture connect with the world in a new and exciting way," said Cai Shangwei,a Chinese director.

Today, China is facing a growing obesity rate（肥胖比率）. The National Health Commission (NHC) reported that over 50% of adults are overweight or obese. It warned that ifit is not controlled, the rate could climb about 20.5% by 2030.

In early November,2024,13-year-old Lin Jiawen, a student at Beijing Academy, (buy) a rabbit card holder which was made by the school' s Cultural Creativity Club.

The club is one of (popular) clubs in the school. It started after a school trip to Henan last year. The province's rich culture encouraged students (mix) tradition with modern style.

Learning to be polite in a new language isn't easy. Every language has special ways to show respect. 

Using modal verbs is an easy way to sound more polite in English. Verbs like "could", "would", "might" and "shall", used for ability or possibility, soften your speech, especially in questions. 

 "Could you open the window, please?" sounds much softer than just "Open the window, please."

Another way to sound more polite in English is to use the passive voice （被动语 态）.  For example, "The computer wasn't turned off." sounds nicer than "Bob, you forgot to turn off the computer."

You can also use the past tense（过去时）. For example, when you check into a hotel, the staff might ask, "Did you need any help with your luggage?" Even though the past tense is usually used to describe things that have already happened, in this case, it's a polite way to ask if you need help with your luggage.

What kind of person could create the unforgettable Nezha we all love? Let's start with Director Jiaozi, a person with an unexpected background. He used to study pharmacy（药剂学）but later decided to step into 3D animation（动画）. Before Nezha, he spent over three years at home. He had little money, so he saved in many ways. He wore old clothes, ate simple food, and walked instead of taking transport. Without internet at home, he visited friends to get animation materials and learn skills. He even used sunlight during the day to save electricity.

The voice-over work was also hard. To create Nezha' s special"smoky voice", the voice-actress Lv Yanting used her lowest voice. As a result, she almost lost her voice for a month. Even on the day before the film was launched, Director Jiaozi was still carefully checking every detail. This made his co-workers quite tired, but they didn't give up. Their hard work paid off. Nezha made a lot of money at the box office（票房） and became a huge success in Chinese animated movies.

In a word, making the Nezha movies was full of difficulties. But the team's strong will and hard work made these films great hits on the big screen.

① "Zoo Walk" is becoming popular among young people inChina. Different from the previously popular "City Walk", refering to walking freely in a city, "Zoo Walk" is more than just walking. It leads us to a place where everyone can gain special memories and a closer connection with wildlife.
