Yan is the head waiter(服务员领班) here. He works very hard and he enjoys his job. He likes telling jokes and many customers(顾客) like him. He knows that it is Mrs Brown's birthday and he wants the dinner to be very special. He brings Mr and Mrs Brown a menu. Then he helps them order. They order vegetable soup for their first course(菜肴). For their main course, they orderBeijing roast duck. After the main course, they order a fruit salad. Yan brings them their food. They eat slowly and happily, listening to the beautiful music. 

The evening is so wonderful. It is 11:00 p. m. when the Browns get home. Mrs Brown puts her red flower from China Jade in a vase(花瓶). She is very happy. She thinks that it is not so bad to be forty years old!
