  During this event, we perform to say goodbye to our seniors and retired (退休的) staff. We can show different kinds of talents like singing, dancing, or drama. 

How do you celebrate the coming of spring? For Polish (波兰的) people, there is an old tradition called "the drowning (淹死) of Marzanna". 

In the old days, Marzanna, the winter's witch (女巫), stood for winter, death and sickness. People used to make Marzanna dolls and then drown or even burn them to forget the cold weather and wish for a good year. 

My earliest memories of Marzanna went back to when I was in primary school. I remember one day, our classmates brought old clothes, colorful ribbons (丝带) and beads (珠子) to the classroom. But when my classmate Piotrek arrived with straw (稻草), we were really excited. We all tried our best to create the ugliest Marzanna for a fun competition. 

Once our doll was ready we put on our winter clothes and went to the town's bridge. I was amazed at how big she looked to me at the time. After a short ceremony, we threw Marzanna into the river, watching the water carry her away. Just remember, don't touch Marzanna before throwing her into the water-it brings bad luck! 

Today, children still walk through the streets with the Marzanna doll on a stick, singing to drive away the cold. In some places of Poland, however, people choose not to burn or drown the doll. They think it is harmful to the environment.

The solar terms also shape Chinese culture. Many festivals, like Qingming, fall on certain terms. People sweep tombs during Qingming and eat cold food to honor their ancestors. Customs such as eating dumplings on "Winter Solstice" (冬至) or drinking tea on "Start of Summer" (立夏) are still popular today. 

In modern times, the 24 Solar Terms remain meaningful. They remind us to live in harmony (和谐) with nature and inspire art, poems and festivals. In 2016, UNESCO added them to the world's cultural heritage list (世界文化遗产目录). 

From ancient wisdom to modern life, the 24 Solar Terms are a bridge between humans and nature, celebrating China's rich history and respect for the environment. 

Huang Xuhua, a great Chinese scientist, passed away on February 6th, 2025. But his great achievements  strong spirit will always stay in our hearts and keep lighting up China's way forward. 

Huang Xuhua was born in Guangdong Province in 1926. When he was , the Chinese people were having hard times. These sad memories made him study hard. He made a  to make the country strong with what he learned. In the 1950s, when China started to develop nuclear submarines (核潜艇), it was a very difficult job. Huang Xubua was not afraid and stood up . At that time, China almost knew nothing about what nuclear submarines were. But Huang Xuhua and his team took on this challenge. Because they had to keep the project secret, they couldn't keep in touch with the outside world,  their families. During the working process, they met a lot of problems. One of the problems was to make  that the submarine was stable (稳定) underwater. After many tests, they gradually solved all the problems. 

Finally, in the 1970s, China's  nuclear submarine was built and tested successfully. China became one of the few countries that had this ability. He  many honors because of his hard work, including the "Medal of the Republic" in 2019. Now, whenever we  him, his spirit can inspire us a lot. We, especially the young people, should learn  him.

Once, a father and his son went to a kite flying festival. The son was very excited to see all the colorful kites in the sky and asked his father to buy him 1 . To make him happy, the father went to a nearby shop at the park and bought a beautiful kite for him.

The subway(地铁)is cheap, fast and comfortable. But some people play music or videos(视频) loudly on the subway, do you  unhappy then?It's not a problem now. There are some new rules for the subway in many cities.

There is a big library in our school. It's across from the school dining hall. It is a wonderful place for us to read and study. However, there are some rules we have to follow when we are in the library. 

First of all, a book is a gift, so we have to use it with care. We can't write or draw on the books, And we can't fold(折叠)the pages

Second, we have to retun(归还)the books on time. We can keep a book for two weeks. 

Third, we have to keep the library clean. We can't eat in the library. If we take snacks or drinks, we should leave them outside. We should also put the books back in the right places after reading them. 

Finally, we can't take too many books at a time so that others can borrow the books. We should also be polite. We shouldn't talk loudly(大声地)or run in the library.
