How to Deal With People Talking About You Behind Your Back

It feels pretty terrible to have people talk about you behind your back. Here are some tips you can follow when you meet gossips（闲话）。

 Being talked about behind your back can make you question your strengths and abilities. Don't lose heart. Instead, try to remember your value as a person by thinking about what makes you great. Sit down and make a list about things like" I'm a great listener!" or" I'm creative!" 

 If you' re feeling sad because of gossips, try to do something happy. For example, you could walk your dog, play with your cat, listen to your favorite music, or even write or draw something. 

Treat them with kindness. Give the person a real compliment（赞美）, like, " Wow, Rose, you did a great job on these pictures. "  For example, you could hold the door open for them or help them carry something heavy. 

Talk to someone who can help. Sometimes gossips may make it hard for you to do well in study.  If this person is known for gossiping, your teacher might want to take action to stop it.

Rabbits are small and soft animals. They are super cute! Here are some facts about the popular pet around the world. 

You might think that rabbits eat a lot of carrots. Actually, that's not true. Wild rabbits don't eat root vegetables. They love greens like weeds, grass, and clovers. 

The sizes of rabbits are widely different. The smallest is the Pygmy Rabbit a I 7. 9 inches long and 0. 9 pounds. The Guinness World Record holder for the longest rabbit is Darius, 4. 4 feet long and weighed about 50 pounds. 

Rabbits are caught by many animals like wolves, foxes, and eagles. So, they need good senses to stay safe. Eyes on the sides of their heads allow them to see almost all the way around them to keep close watch for enemies. Ears up to four inches long have a serious purpose—they can listen for dangers up to two miles away. 

Rabbits are productive baby makers. Mother rabbits begin breeding（繁殖）at a young age and give birth to up to seven baby rabbits four or five times a year. Baby rabbits are blind and helpless at birth. With the mom's care, they grow well and stop drinking their mom's milk after about a month. Not all rabbits live to grow old. Wild rabbits have a shorter life (one to nine years) than pet rabbits (eight to twelve years) because they are exposed（面临）to diseases, the short of food, or enemies.

Last summer, I had a wonderful experience learning about Chinese traditional culture. My family and I visited a small  （村压）in northern China, particularly known for its paper-cutting art. As we walked through the  安静) streets, we saw red paper decorations （到处）. Each design was unique, with shapes like flowers, animals, and even dragons. It felt like stepping into a different world. 

One afternoon, we met an old paper-cutting artist. She  （邀请）us into her home and showed us how to make our own designs. At first, it seemed  （奇怪）to me that something as simple as paper and scissors could make such beautiful art. But she encouraged me to try. （虽然）my design wasn't perfect, I felt proud of what I had made.

Question 1: Why did you want to make animation for films?

I' ve always had a love for films. When I saw my first Disney movie as a child, I felt the magic of animation（动画）at once.  Later, I learned how movies are made and decided to work on animation. 

Question 2: What was it like working at Disney in those early days?

The Walt Disney Studio was like a magical place.  Walt Disney was the leader and he had lots of great ideas. He was good at seeing the potential（潜力）in his people, even before they saw it in themselves.

After decades of cartoon making, it's hard to pickia favorite. But if I had to choose, I'd say Mickey Mouse. I read his stories as a child and later became the author of my own Mickey stories.

A new study has found that older wild animals need to be protected because they have important knowledge that helps the rest of their populations live through challenges. 

There are lots of ways that older animals help their groups. For example, older birds are great at finding food and safe places for their babies to live. This helps the baby birds grow up strong and healthy. Older female elephants are like wise leaders—they remember which animals are friendly and which are dangerous. They also keep an eye out for lions and other threats. Even grandmother whales are helpful! They use their experience to guide their families to food when it's hard to find. 

But sadly, older animals are in danger in some parts of the world. Fishing has caused the number of older fish to drop a lot——up to 97% in some places! This is a big problem because older fish teach younger ones important living skills. In areas where poaching（偷猎）happens, older animals are at even greater risk. Poachers kill them for their bigger tusks, horns, or antlers. 

Scientists from Charles Darwin University in Australia say we need to do more to protect these older animals. They think the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), a group that helps endangered animals, should pay special attention to older animals. This could help experts find more ways to keep them safe. The scientists also say fishing companies should stop——catching too many older fish in order to protect the whole population. 

It takes time to learn critical thinking, but it's never too late to start. These steps will help you become a critical thinker. 

First, critical thinkers start by asking questions about things around them. They think about cause and effect. If this happens, what will follow? If that occurs, how will the result be different?They know every action has a result. They think about all possible results of decisions before making them. 

Next, you need to seek information to answer those questions. Do some research! You can learn lots of things on the Internet, but it's not the only place. You. can also interview people. . Ask the experts near you. Collect different information and ideas. This will help you make your own decisions. The more information you collect, the better. 

Then, question everything. Are you being fair? Are you just guessing? Try to look at every idea clearly. Is it really true? What are the real facts? Have you thought about the situation from different sides?

Finally, when you reach a conclusion with critical thinking, it's time to share and use your solution. Not everyone will think about the situation as carefully as you do. You should understand this. Present your solutions in an easy-to-understand way for everyone. 

When the bell rang, I rushed to my first English class in room 321. I sat as far back as possible, keeping my head down. Kids came in laughing and talking, but no one sat next to me except Jack, who seemed popular and made everyone| laugh. 

The teacher, a tall man with a yellow beard, stood at the chalkboard. He introduced himself as Mr. Browne and started talking about what we'd be learning this semester. While he spoke, I doodled（乱画）in my notebook nervously. 

Mr. Browne wrote"P-R-E-C-E-P-T" on the board and told us to write it down. "Who knows what a precept is?" he asked. No one raised their hand. With a smile, he explained, "It's a rule about important things——like a saying that helps-guide us" He asked us to name important things. "Family! Pets! The environment!" Reid yelled, "Sharks!" Mr. Browne laughed and wrote them all down. "But no one's named the most important thing. " We all looked at him, confused（困惑的）。Then he wrote, "WHO WE ARE!" He emphasized that knowing ourselves is the most important thing.

He wrote his September precept on the board: WHEN. GIVEN THE CHOICE BETWEEN BEING RIGHT AND BEING KIND, CHOOSE KIND. He told us to start a section in our notebooks called"Mr. Browne' s Precepts. ' Each month, he' d share a new precept, and we' d discuss and write essays about it. He also asked us to create a personal precept over the summer and mail it to him. 

As I wrote down Mr. Browne's September precept, I realized something: I was going to like school. No matter what.
