Watching TV is my bobby. I like watching TV very much in my free time because I think it has many advantages (优点). 

First of all, watching TV can make us relaxed. Alter a day's hard work, we need a good rest. Watching TV can make us not tired any more because of the wonderful music and TV plays. 

Second, watching TV is entertaining (娱乐的). There are many kinds of entertainments, such as sports activities, performances, plays and movies in the world. It's not possible for us to go to every place to enjoy all the activities within a short time. We need about seven hours or more to fly from New York to Paris. But within just one second, the TV can bring us from an NBA game in New York to a fashion show in Paris by changing the channel(频道). 

Most importantly, watching TV is educational. The children can learn different kinds of subjects through the educational programs and it's easy for them to learn Chinese from a Chinese teacher in Beijing and to learn Russian from a Russian teacher in Moscow. We can even learn how to behave(表现) well from TV plays. At the same time, a teacher can teach millions of students without a huge (巨大的) classroom.

My Hometown

My hometown is a beautiful village in the north of China. 

My name is Jessica. I was born in a small village many years ago. And now there is only one school in this small village. There aren't many students in it. The teachers are very (friend). The students all like (they). Behind the school, there are some trees. I enjoy (play)with my friends under the trees.

Stargaze(观察星体)

Stargazing is another interesting thing to do in a small town. People in cities hardly see the stars.  But small towns are different. They give you a chance(机会) to see the stars at night. It's so enjoyable!

My hometown is a small but beautiful town. I left my hometown ten years ago. Now, when I cam e back, I found that it had changed a lot. 

When I left, there were only a few small shops in my hometown. Now, there is a big supermarket in the south of the town. And there are different kinds of things in it. There is also a new hotel. There was a great park there before, but people cut down all the trees. It is a pity. 

In the north of the town, there is a town library. It was old and small ten years ago but it is big and beautiful now. And there are more books and magazines in it. People in my town like to go there to read. There is also a new post office just across from my old school. 

In the center of the town, there is a big change: people can't drive there, but can only walk or ride bikes. There are also more flowers and trees in the town center, and they are so beautiful. 

Another change is the number of new restaurants. There are more restaurants in my hometown. There is a new Chinese restaurant in the town center and a new Thai restaurant near my home. I like the two restaurants very much!

To Millie

Subject My vacation in Heng Kong

Hi, Millie! I'm in Hong Kong. My parents and I arrived here . yesterday. And we' re going to stay here in five days. We' ll arrange (安排):many interesting  (activity). 

Today we  (decide) to go to Disneyland. We got there subway in the morning. At Disneyland, there were lots of interesting games to play. So we would like  (play) as many games as we could. They were all (enjoy).

In the morning, we had fun on Space Mountain. There were lots of visitors in the park. so we had to spend more than an hour  (stand) in line. At 12:00 we were hungry, so we had lunch in a restaurant. The food was delicious, but it was (real)expensive. At 16:00, we did some shopping. I bought  gift for you. I'm sure you' ll like it. In the evening, we watched the fireworks in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle. The fireworks were so beautiful took a lot of photos. We were tired but very happy. How (wonder) the day was!

During this past summer holiday, my family made a six-day trip to Phuket Island (普吉岛) in Thailand. Phuket is known for its beautiful, natural scenery that includes long coasts, clear, blue sea and green hills. 

In Phuket, we did some water sports such as diving, parasailing (帆伞运动) and canoeing, which were all new to me. The most impressive(令人印象深刻的) was diving with so many amazing fish swimming alongside me. I felt like we were close friends!

In addition to daytime activities, we also enjoyed the evenings. We would go to the fresh markets to buy popular seafood, such as different kinds of fish and crabs (螃蟹). We also tried many local (当地的)fruits including mangoes, coconuts and pineapples. 

During the trip, I got many chances(机会) to meet and talk with people who were always friendly and helpful to us. They were always there when we asked where to play and eat. Their smiles warmed our hearts. 

It was really an amazing trip. I tasted many "firsts" in my life and was glad to communicate(交流) with people from different backgrounds and cultures. In Phuket, I felt like I was in a mini global village to know each other.
