I want to learn English well. I believe that communicating with others is the best way to learn English. So I went to a language school in the UK. I also got a job as a saleswoman because I thought learning English in a language school was not enough. I needed to meet people outside to improve my speaking and listening. 

My first work week was very difficult. For example, when a customer asked me about a specific type of chocolate, I had no idea. After the customer left, the manager said to me, "It doesn't matter. No pain, no gain. " The manager's words encouraged me and I tried to learn how to communicate with customers in English. 

Three years ago, I only knew how to introduce myself in English. But right now, I know many different kinds of medicines and other things in English. I will never forget all my experiences in the UK about learning English. 

A little girl in Hangzhou who loves baking(烘焙) has become popular. She watched videos on the Internet to learn how to bake and set up a stall(货摊) for sale during the summer holiday in2024. She can get several hundred yuan a day from her sales. 

Feng does well in making cakes. From an early age, Feng often watched her parents cook in the kitchen. She truly started baking in her second grade. She watched baking videos on the Internet first. After that, she tried to improve her baking skills. Sometimes she could spend all day baking in the kitchen. 

In the summer holiday of 2024, Feng came up with the idea of setting up a stall outside to sell cakes. She could earn(赚) up to 500 yuan a day at most. Her mother mainly wanted to develop her daughter's skills. She didn't expect her daughter to have such strong hands-on and social skills. To her surprise, Feng Rui did everything from baking the cakes to selling them. Sometimes when the cakes were not sold out, Feng Rui gave them to cleaners and friends. Now, she begins to teach some children to bake.

Keeping pets has become popular. Cats and dogs are the two most common pets. People also keep other pets like rabbits, birds, and even snakes. People like staying with pets because keeping a pet is good for them. Here are some points about it. 

It can be a great way to learn how to be responsible(有责任感的) through having a pet. What's more, feeding pets helps us learn to care for the people around us. 

Keeping pets is good for our health. Walking a dog can help us get more exercise and improve our health. Playing with a cat or other small pets can also be a great way to get some body exercise. 

 ▲    They make us feel less lonely and offer us security(安全感). When people stay with a cat, they will feel more relaxed than staying alone. And people can sleep well at night in the company of a pet. 

In a word, having a pet can be a wonderful experience.

R: It's also my favourite. I really want to know  you wrote such a book.

Today, our teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up.
