Last month, our school held an English speech competition(比赛). I was surprised to win first (奖)! The experience taught me the  (重要性) of friends.

Doing chores not only improves kids' life skills, but also makes them become more independent. However, many parents may make some mistakes when they ask their kids to do chores. Here's some useful advice. 

First, ask kids to do age-appropriate(适龄的) chores. Most kids are smart and learn quickly. If the kids can't finish a chore in a long time, parents can give them an easier one. Kids can learn a lot even by doing the simplest chores. 

 Kids will not always understand why they need to sweep the floor or make the bed. After parents tell them the reasons, they can understand the importance of doing chores and be happy to help make the home clean and tidy. 

Third, praise(表扬) kids when they are doing chores. Some chores can be very difficult for kids.

However, as long as kids are trying their best, parents should tell them they are doing a great job. That can help kids believe in themselves. Then parents can also teach their kids how to do chores better.
