Friends can do things together. A friend can play with you and laugh with you. A friend can help you solve a problem.  Friends are important to everyone. Here are some ideas to help you better understand friends.

Being the Same

Friends are the same in some ways.  For example, Mary and Bill both like to draw. That is how they are the same.

Being Different

 Friends may look different or have different ideas. Ryan is tall, butLee is shorter. That is how they are different.

Staying and Leaving

Sometimes friends get to stay together. They may live on the same street or go to the same school. But sometimes friends have to say goodbye. 

Old and New

Some friends are old friends. You may know an old friend for a long time.  One way to make friends is to join a club to meet new people.

Now, let me tell you more about astronauts. More than 500 people have been in space. The first man in space was Yuri Gagarin. He flew into space in 1961. His spaceship was just big enough for one person. John Glenn went to space again in 1998 at the age of 77. He was the oldest man to fly in space. Space isn't just for men. The first woman in space was Valentina Tereshkova. The first moon landing was made by Neil Armstrong in 1969. He said, "One small step for a man, one giant leap (跨越) for mankind."

Would you like to be an astronaut when you finish school? First, you must be healthy. Then you have to take tests. After. you pass the tests, you are still not an astronaut. You need more training(训练) for new skills. There are many jobs to do in space. An astronaut must be ready for anything.

Look! Something small and green is flying fast over the water. It is a dragonfly! Dragonflies are flying insects with two pairs of wings. They come in many colors. Dragonflies can be green, blue, gold, or even pink.

Dragonflies always live close to water. Look at your closest river, pond, or lake. Maybe you can spot some dragonflies! They produce their eggs in or near water. The young dragonflies live in water for a year or more.

Adult dragonflies have the largest eyes of all the insects. Each eye has about thirty thousand small parts. They can see almost all the way around at once. Dragonflies are some of the fastest flying insects in the world. They can turn quickly in the air. They can fly forward, backward, and even upside down!

Dragonflies are amazing creatures. There are nearly three thousand kinds of dragonflies in the world. People all over the world are starting to realize it! People in Japan built the world's first dragonfly park in 1985. Today there are also dragonfly parks in Europe and the United States. The dragonfly park in Singapore has large statues(雕像) of dragonflies in the lake.

Every child has a hobby. My hobby is studying the night sky. But some friends of mine have special hobbies.

In a small town, there lived a little girl named Lily. She loved exploring the world around her.

There are different kinds of clubs in our school. Now I am going to tell you something about the club I am in.

Your school days should be some of the best and happiest days of your life.  can you get the most from them, and make sure you do not waste this excellent chance to learn?

Be active at school. Never say that things are difficult or (bore). You should be interested  school life and different subjects. Take part in as many (activity)as possible. 

Put your hands up (quick) in class. Go around the school with  big smile on your face. If you do not work, you will waste your time at school. Teachers cannot make everything enjoyable for you so try to do it by (you). 

Keep fit.  you do not have breakfast, you will be thinking about food in class. If you go to bed late and do not have enough sleep, you will be sleepy in class. Playing sports over one hour every day can keep your body strong. 

Face the problem. Do not say that you (do) the things tomorrow. If you get behind the class, you will have problems catching up with others. Don't forget to ask for help. You are young and no one  (think) you must do everything quite well.
