A Teacher I Like

My Best Friend and I

Reading the story between Yu Boya and Zhong Ziqi, I think of my best friend and how we learn from each other.

In ancient(古代的) China, there was a musician named Yu Boya. He was very famous because of his great talent in playing the guqin. His music was so beautiful that it could touch people's hearts.

One day, while playing the guqin by the riverside, Yu Boya met Zhong Ziqi. Although Zhong Ziqi was only a woodcutter(伐木者), he was able to understand the feelings and meanings expressed through Yu Boya's music. Zhong Ziqi could tell when Yu Boya was playing for the mountains or waters. This deep understanding helped to build a strong friendship between them. They became close friends who could communicate(交流)through the language of music.

Unluckily, Zhong Ziqi died soon. Yu Boya was really sad. In memory of his dear friend, he broke his guqin, saying never to play it again.

Their story is popular through the ages as a symbol of true friendship. It shows that real friends do not necessarily need to be the same. No matter who you are, and what you do, true friendship can bring people together in a way that nothing else can.

These mascots are (actual) based on the Chinese white dolphin, which is a very special animal in the ocean. Chinese white dolphins are one of the (important) animals and they are called "pandas of the sea" in China. The Pearl River Delta area near Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong is the home white dolphins. These dolphins have a really interesting habit. When they swim and move actively, their white skin turns pink  their blood vessels(血管) are filled with more blood. That's why our mascots come in two colors—— white and pink The white one shows the dolphin's normal color, while the pink one shows how they look when they' re playing. So the pink one is (outgoing) than the white one. He is always busy (dance), rolling and running. People love them so much that they' ve given them  funny nickname(绰号)"Big Bay Chicken".

What makes these mascots even more special is knowing who are inside the costumes.

 fact, they' re students, aged 12-16, from martial arts schools. These kids worked really hard to bring the mascots to life. They (practice) doing spins, jumps, and arm swings in front of mirrors over 2000 times daily during September and October.

I think Xi Yangyang and Le Rongrong are wonderful mascots because they teach us about protecting nature, working together, and finding joy in sports.

What makes a child want to become a scientist? For 10-year-old Jane Goodall, it was her wish to live with 1 . With that dream in mind, she spent her life as a friend to chimpanzees(黑猩猩). On 1 October 2025, she passed away at the age of 91.

People have been using herbal medicines (草药) for thousands of years.

Do you know, for example, that aspirin (阿司匹林) comes from the bark of the willow trees(柳树)? In the 5th century BC, a Greek doctor, Hippocrates, gave a thing equivalent (相当于)to aspirin to his patients to reduce their pain.

Many of the useful herbal medicines can be found in our homes or gardens. Put some lavender (薰衣草) oil beside your bed at night to help you sleep better. Or put the leaves from an aloe (芦荟) plant on your burns or cuts. That will help them to heal (康复). The Egyptian queen, Cleopatra, also used this kind of amazing plant to keep her skin soft and young-looking.

Finally, don't forget the power of garlic. It thins and cleans the blood. It is good for stomach problems and coughs, and it's a natural antiseptic (抗菌剂). So, if you have a cold the next time, try a mixture of garlic, lemon and honey.

During the May Day holiday, Frank visited the Aizhai Scenic Area in Hunan with his parents. It was an exciting three-day trip filled with fantastic experiences.

The family's trip began at Shibadong Village. The village used to be very poor, but now it has become a famous tourist sight. There they saw many beautiful landscapes(景观). At the same time, they were very interested in Miao people's life and culture.

Next, they visited the Aizhai Bridge. Walking on the 1,176- metre- long canyon(峡谷) bridge, Frank felt like he was flying among the clouds. The bridge connected wo sides of the Dehang Canyon. Frank could see dangerous cliffs(悬崖) and beautiful waterfalls. The most amazing sight was the Flowing Yarn Waterfall. It is one of the ten most attractive waterfalls in China. Its water looked like silk falling from the sky. It was wonderful to see the beautiful scenery.

The family arrived at the Jidou Miao Village on the afternoon of 4 May. The rice fields and wooden houses looked like a painting in the sun. To their surprise, the next day was the Siyueba Festival, a very important day for Miao people. Frank got up quite early. He saw lots of Miao people get together at Jidou Miao Village. In traditional clothes, they sang, did the lion dance and gave nice shows. Many visitors couldn't help but join in the fun. Frank and his parents did the same. They felt lucky to celebrate the festival with so many people.

Though the trip ended, it would stay in Frank's memory (记忆) forever.
