Peter was going to have a spelling test. Mr. White promised to give prizes to those who would get full marks. Peter really hoped to get one, so he went to school early to review the words again.

During the test, Peter wrote all the words quickly. Thirty words later, Mr. White collected the test papers and corrected them. Finally he said, "Peter and Mary got full marks! Congratulations!"

Peter was excited. He thanked Mr. White politely when he went to get his test paper and the prize. However, after he got his test paper, he found he spelt a word wrong.

A study called "How15-Year-Olds Learn English" looked at 15-year-old students in five countries. The researchers found that students often use English to search for information online. However, they still have difficulty in speaking and writing English. They are better at reading and listening. Those are the things they often do, like reading news and listening to English songs, especially on the Internet. Students might feel shy when it comes to speaking. And they don't want to write in English outside of school.

Teachers think that using English online can make students more interested in the language, but it doesn't help them as much in class. "Some of my students think they are better at English than they really are, so they don't take school learning very seriously. That can hurt students' learning and keep them from improving," one teacher said.

The study also found that textbooks still play a big role in English classes, although students use English a lot online outside of school. Teachers need to think about how to use the Internet and textbooks together to help students lear English better.

When the festival approaches, the village becomes lively. All villagers dress up in colorful Miao clothes. Men play the lusheng, a traditional musical instrument. And women carry baskets filled with delicious food and wine. The highlight of the festival is the bridge worship ceremony (仪式).

Many tourists come to experience the traditional festival. During the daytime celebrations, the village square is filled with the happy music of the lusheng as villagers and visitors dance together. Tourists take pictures and make videos to remember the special moments. As night falls, villagers and tourists gather around a bonfire (篝火) in the square.
